Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : New start

AI -Its capabilities are explained in this chapter. It is a simple AI like SIRI, but it seems to have access to Mc's Logic or Pattern skills.

Just making it efficient, with no wastage in processing simple things, essentially giving results customized according to MC.

AI reminders- think of them as the Hogwarts legends guide that appears carrying info from the AI database. It helps me learn better, practically.

Note: Reminders are only written occasionally by me at key points, but most of the time they run in the background to help Mc learn well. You can skip them if you feel they seem like too many details.

BOLD- AI, location or side headings in profile. Sometimes the importance of a part of the sentence is stressed by using this.

[Hypothesis or AI Info.

For readers interested in mechanics or world-building, like the details of magic. ]

— Chapter-1 starts — ----------Location - Maple Tree Park, nestled in the heart of London, England---------

As I knelt among the lush greenery of the park, the cool water washed the bloodstains. Memories of my childhood came to my mind. Not this childhood, but the true childhood.

Watching the kids play around is fun. Some do so with grace, others with an uncanny ability to trip over themselves. I couldn't help but feel a surge of nostalgia mixed with amusement.

SIGH.

"Once more scrape to go," I muttered under my breath, carefully tending to the scraped knee of a 4-year-old brunette boy. His tearful gaze tugged at my heartstrings as I used the alcohol-soaked cotton swab to clean his injury.

"Arjun", his voice shaky and weak, whispered, "It hurts."

I wrapped a bandage around his wound, offering soothing words to calm his distress. "It's alright, buddy. Just a minor scrape. By tomorrow, it'll be all scabbed over, and you'll be back to your adventures."

"Really?" he sniffled, searching my eyes for confirmation.

"Absolutely," I replied with a reassuring smile.

His grateful expression warmed my heart, and I resisted the urge to pinch his cheeks affectionately, sensing his reluctance. Something that reminded me of myself. I can only say that I had some chubby cheeks that were heavenly to pinch, according to my cousins.

With a comforting pat on his shoulder, I nudged him towards his waiting friends. "Off you go now. Your pals are waiting for you."

As he rejoined his companions with a newfound spring in his step, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction wash over me. Nothing truly beats the experience of healing. It made all the effort that I put in over a decade worth it.

As I watched the children run off, ignoring my advice to slow down, I couldn't help but think about my situation. I'm Arjun Prasad—a medical student who has now come back as a 6-year-old kid in the strange city of London. For a month, memories from my past life have been flooding back, and I still can't wrap my head around how bizarre this all is.

I have a theory about this: the human brain grows a lot by age 5, and after that, we learn through our experiences. This idea helps me make sense of my new life.

It was like my past life memory was downloaded into my brain over the years and fully completed last month. Much more logical than the fanfic, I read where a baby brain seems to accommodate the adult brain with ease. As a medical student, I called bullshit the moment I saw them. Because most of the nerve connections are still forming in the baby phase.

Speaking of Fanfics, you see my death brought me here, across continents, and it's still hard to wrap my head around it. One question that erupted in me was- How do other self-inserts in fanfics accept this so easily?

Even though my family and situation seem similar, this change is really strange. The biggest difference is that my family moved to London, England, after my brother was born. My dad still works in the pharmaceutical industry and is now a Managing Director. He's just one step away from starting his own company, just like in my past life. It's wild how some things stay the same, even with all this newness!

His work ethic remains unchanged, putting in long hours from dawn to dusk. Unlike my dad, I've never been one for such gruelling schedules, except during that one-month cram session for the medical entrance exam. Just thinking about it makes me shudder.

SMACK

"You know, I still can't believe you can clean a wound, my little doctor," my brother teases me with a smack on the back, breaking my train of thought.

I can't help but respond with childlike enthusiasm, hiding the truth. "Because I want to be a doctor. I watched a video on the computer to wash the wound and use a bandage!"

"Sure, Mr. Class Topper," he chuckles, and thankfully, his friend interrupts, calling us to continue our jog for the match.

"Hey Eswar, come on, the opposing team is already here," his friend urges.

"Arjun, let's go; we need to continue our jog," Eswar says to me, patting my shoulder.

Reluctantly, I agree that even after death and rebirth, I still dislike doing any physical exercise.

"Yeah, yeah, let's go, Anna."

[Anna= Means big brother. I kept it in the sentences, to keep the realism alive.

Watching my brother Eswar play soccer with older kids in the park, I felt a bit jealous. At just 12 years old, he was already great at both sports and school. In both lives, Eswar has always been friendly and nice, never acting like the bullies you see in high schools. Even though I'm six years younger, he treats me with kindness and respect, never looking down on me.

Comparing myself to him was inevitable because we were brothers. I found that the differences between us were vast. While Eswar effortlessly commanded attention on the soccer field and in the classroom, I found peace only in my academics.

Though, I did score a scholarship up to the postgraduate through my merit.

Physically, I had a slight height advantage, standing at 6 feet tall, but my tendency to carry a few extra pounds of weight always made me self-conscious.

SLAP

Determined not to repeat past mistakes with the self-slap to the cheek, I accompanied Eswar on his morning runs and warm-ups, refusing to let myself get used to the lazy lifestyle that had been the norm in my previous life.

[Ting. Ting.]

As the sting of my AI reminder interrupted my thoughts, I am proud to present to you my advantage in this life.

[AI Reminder: Time for a quick revision.

Muscle Contraction: It occurs because of the formation of bonds between two muscle proteins, actin and myosin, fuelled by the consumption of one ATP.

Muscle Relaxation: The bonds between the two muscular proteins break, consuming one ATP.]

As I quickly revised muscle contraction and relaxation, I hoped to finish all my past studies by year's end. That way, I could focus fully on the special part of my life—Magic. One thing I need to accept is that automatic scanning for magic with AI is not an option. This is a disappointing realization for me.

My AI chip is a powerful tool. It processes information from my senses—like sight, hearing, taste, and emotions—turning my experiences into useful data. It uses logic and pattern recognition to make sense of everything, and I believe I have a lot of that skill.

With these abilities, my AI stores and extracts text from books, simplifying complex ideas into language, images, or videos that I can easily understand. This has been a huge help in revising my past education. Plus, it opens up a treasure trove of knowledge in many fields.

Let me introduce you to my current self–"Profile."

Magic: Accidental usage, Data gained- 68/100]

The breadth of information stored in my database is truly surprising, comprising all medical postgraduate texts alongside expertise in programming and electrical engineering.

But perhaps most interesting is my accidental magic, which has resulted in me developing a feeling for my magic, like a new sense.

Recreating the first accidental usage–what I call 'The Awakening of the Past' - took six or seven more instances to reach, with each experience adding to the data of feeling magic.

And here's the latest one: "AI, simulates the awakening."

[Command activated]

Despair, anger, sorrow, relief, hope, excitement–a whirlwind of emotions floods my senses as I relive that Sunday morning I realized my new life, with its floating pillows and toys.

I felt a slight change in me echoing the previous attempts as stones and pebbles levitated in a desolate corner of the park. It is pure excitement and wonder that raced through me.

[Data Recorded.

Duration: 3 minutes

Current Data: 74/ 100]

Though the data remains consistent with previous instances, each simulation brings me one step closer to finally having enough data for my AI.

With 100 being the designation, I have AI Set for the data. It requires starting the exploration into magic.

Well, My AI is the epitome of customization.

---Chapter end---

[*Hypothesis -1:** As I think about my AI chip, I realize it only takes in data from my experiences and helps me with tasks. With every new situation, I learn more about this amazing mystery. It's odd to know that my soul holds memories from my past life and the AI's information, organized like this: mind > body (senses) > soul. But as I adapt to this new reality, one thing is clear: with my AI companion, I feel ready to face the challenges ahead.]
