Chapter 7 - The breath-taking crown prince

Thea pressed her lips, looking greatly troubled. How can she explain the situation when her friend doesn't believe her? She had no choice but to give up.

"Nevermind, just forget it."

She finally claimed after a while.

"No, no, no. I won't tease you anymore." Samantha said, still smiling.

She couldn't control it at all. Thea glared at her.

"If you promise me that you'll behave yourself and listen to me without talking..."

She gave her a warning gaze.

"...and laughing, I'll tell you everything. But if you dare to break it, I won't tell you anything anymore no matter how much you beg me."

Samantha finally became serious when she heard her.

"Okay, I promise you. I'll be good." She uttered, firmly nodding her head.

Thea took a deep breath. She wondered how to start. The memories of her previous life came to her mind one after another. However, she didn't feel sad or lonely. Instead, she became kinda excited to share them with another person.

'Hmmm... Family comes first. I'll start from my family!'

"I'm from an ancient era but not too ancient though. There weren't presidents but kings and queens to control our country. We did have the technology. But it wasn't as improved as your era.

Hmmm... and I was a normal girl, not a rich, young lady. Actually, my mother was a duke's daughter. But she disobeyed my grandpa's wishes by eloping with a servant. Because of that, my grandpa cut ties with her forever. Humph!

My mom was an idiot when it came to love...Not long after, my scumbag father dumped her for another woman!

Now I think about it, he must be pretended to be in love with her because of her wealth and property. My mother hated me..."

Samantha's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't help interrupting her.

"Why did she hate you instead of your father? He's the one at fault."

Thea nodded.

"Yeah, right? I think she thought of me as a burden. And I was just like my father in appearance. My presence might be reminded her about him every time she saw me. I can't blame that poor woman who lost everything because of a useless, fake love."

'Because of her incident, I lost my hopes in love completely. In my opinion, only fools will trust true love. There's nothing called true love in this world.' Thea mumbled in her heart.

"Then what happened next?" Samantha asked curiously. Thea sighed.

"My mother died after getting sick. She lived like a princess but died like a beggar. I was left alone with no one there to care for me. I went to a public school when my mom was still alive. After her death, I decided to do a job in order to live. Thus I had to stop my studies..."

"How did you meet... that wizard?" Samantha asked interrupting her.

"Be patient. I'll come to that gradually. What was I saying...? Yeah, I did various kinds of jobs like cleaning and I was exhausted every single day.

One day, I was in a market selling some fruits and vegetables when I met an old man. He offered me a job. He said he wanted me as his assistant.

I asked why he chose a humble girl like me. He said he recognized my talent and I'm the best one for this task. The salary was also good. Three gold coins!

It was more than enough for a poor girl like me who didn't even eat properly for days. So I readily agreed with him.

Later, I found out that he was actually a wizard, a powerful one. My task was to monitor his stuff, finding ingredients and whatnot. I didn't find what was so special about me. An ordinary person also can do the things I had to do.

But he never took the initiative to teach me his spells. I think I'm not worthy of learning them."

Samantha felt sad and angry at the same time.

"How can you say something like that?" She asked aggrieved.

She really liked this new Thea. She didn't like to see her being treated unfairly.

"I know the reason, darling. There were three students who learned magic from him. They all were noble and elegant. That's why they got the right to practice magic.

Ordinary people weren't worthy to learn such a pure thing as magic and sorcery including me.

Hmm... Imagine this! How can I sit together with the crown prince of our country and learn magic with him in the same class? How? howww???"

Samantha's eyes lit up when she heard the word, 'Crown prince.' She sat up straight excitedly.

"Who's this crown prince? Please tell me some more about him, okay? Please... please..."

Thea sighed helplessly.

'This girl!'

"In my story, he isn't that important. But since you are so interested in him, I'll tell you about him. He's the firstborn son of king Afgrien Bloodrop. He was just like his father. Cold, distant and ruthless!"

"Like a male lead of an ancient novel?"

Samantha's question made Thea think for a moment about him. Finally, she nodded her head.

"Yep, he's worthy of being a male lead. He's powerful and talented and... good-looking as well."

"Really? Can you describe his appearance? Is he handsome as our Aaron?"

Thea compared the two of them in her mind.

"Not really. Yeah, I agree that both of them are equally handsome in their own way. But... they look like the polar opposite. Aaron has blue eyes but Prince Ebriem's eyes were red and golden mixed. His irises were red but the outline was golden. And he had dark, dark, dark black hair. Aaron's hair..."

"I know! He has light brown hair... But your prince charming is just too handsome to be true. I almost drooled just by imagining his attractiveness.

If I were you, I would have pounced on such a handsome man like him the moment I saw him!"

Thea rolled her eyes.

'Who said he's my prince charming? Humph!'
