After trying the same thing for another five minutes, he was excited in finally succeeding when the knife suddenly flashed, and another one similar to it appeared in his left hand.
After being excited for a while, he quickly willed a dart board into existence, and threw both knives in it's direction, with the tips inserting themselves parallel to the bullseye right next to each other.
Roman cheered in happiness at the sight, not only because he was successful in doing something he struggled with only 7 hours ago, but because the knives were really slow in his vision, proving the existence of his Super Speed, and one of its other uses.
'This is probably a sub-ability that was previously mentioned by Holmes. So not only does it speed my body up literally, but my thoughts, senses, and reactions too.'
'This doesn't even include my natural intelligence which boosts that, and both Blessings that have something to do with my brain or soul.'
After thinking of this Roman then looked at both knives stuck at the dartboard.
'Then, there's Item-Duplication, which is almost perfect with Sharpshooting like I thought earlier. I now can basically have an unlimited amount of objects to throw without having to worry about running out of ammo. I can literally pick up a rock, and have an infinite amount to throw at people.'
Thinking up here. Roman was slightly elated, yet his calm won out in the end. He hasn't noticed it yet, but his perk has begun taking effect more often, leading him to be calm more often.
'I'll check out Peak Conditioning later. Now I need to read this book first before I can train. Power can always be taken away somehow, but Knowledge always exists, whether you remember it or not.'
Roman was stunned for a moment. He never pegged himself for a philosopher. Yet he just shrugged off his most recent thoughts as his brain just wandered off for a moment.
Walking to the couch in the living room, he imagined an extremely nutritious fill of foods to fill his table as recommended by Holmes, before putting the book titled "Introductions on Fixers", and turned to the first page while devouring his food.
'So Holmes, what was it you were mentioning on doing to finish reading this in less than an hour?'
[Sir, thanks to your new Blessing, and also Super Speed, you only need to skim the pages of the entire book, and I can download its contents straight into your mind. We can finish in less than 10 minutes compared to the previously estimated time of one hour.]
Roman held his fork in place, with a piece of bacon dangling on its tip, to let that information sink in. A book that he assumed would have taken him a minimum of 12 hours to finish reading, can be finished in less than 10 minutes, just by flipping the pages.
[Actually, it could be even faster Sir, based on how fast you flip all of the pages.]
Roman got serious. Taking a deep breath, he activated his Super Speed, and flipped through those pages as fast as possible.
He kept at it for as long as possible, until Holmes informed him that he was done. Even then, it took him 2 minutes to finish flipping those pages.
[I will process this information in 30 minutes sir, and then download it straight into your brain.]
Hearing the amount of time required, Roman quickly finished his food, before deciding on getting started on his training.
He decided to start off with some good old fashioned push ups. He read how hard they are to do in the beginning, and how it takes time to see the results, so he was ready to face some hardships.
In the first few minutes, he just spammed them in what he believed was the correct posture based on what he knew from his past life.
However, after doing 200 push ups in 10 minutes, he started thinking that he was doing something wrong. He wasn't even sweating or feeling any sort of muscle soreness.
Concerned, he decided to seek the advice of the only person he can.
'Hey Holmes, am I doing something wrong? Why am I not feeling tired or anything?'
[Sir, your form is actually pretty decent for a beginner, which speaks for your talent. The reason lies in your Peak Conditioning and Super Regeneration abilities. The second your muscles start straining and becoming sore, your ability is regenerating them, making them stronger and tougher.]
[Meanwhile, like assumed earlier, Peak Conditioning has more uses than just allowing you to remain in peak condition. While your body is regenerating, Peak Conditioning is using the energy you are currently not using, to harden your newly regenerated muscles even more.]
[You don't have to worry too much Sir. Although it may not seem like you're making progress at the moment, you are currently improving at 10 times the rate of the humans in your past life who were professional bodybuilders.
[However, you need a lot more energy in order to be able to fill up some weight and add more streamlined muscles. Your height may also undergo some changes this week.]
Hearing this, Roman was relieved. At least he doesn't have to worry that much about not improving in some way.
Even better is the fact that by knowing how he compared to those professional bodybuilders in terms of improvement, he was motivated in ways he didn't even think was possible.
After thinking for a bit on how best to improve his training, he came up with an extremely brilliant idea.
He wished into existence a treadmill, some dumbbells, a pull-up bar, and other training equipment, before he decided to just get on the treadmill and run for the next twenty minutes at his fastest speed until Holmes processed the information obtained from that book.
....
After 20 minutes, Holmes informed Roman on his completion. Instead of doing it right away though, Roman continued to run till the end of the hour, before taking a nice refreshing bath, and settling into his bedroom.
'Holmes, is it going to be as disorienting as the first time you gave me my memories?'
[No Sir. You should be relatively fine since your intelligence increased from your new Blessing. Should any form of data download pose a threat to you in any form, I will inform you first.]
Roman realized that he probably needed to start making a checklist for some of these things. He put a mental mark to always ask Holmes beforehand if any form of data he downloads in the future is safe.
'Ok Holmes, hit me whenever you're ready.'
[Understood.]
