It has been a month since Jevelyn insisted on getting out of bed and exercising her body so that she could move around instead of laying in bed, being bored out of her mind.
Spreading her arms as the sun covered her whole body, she took a deep breath of fresh air with a smile.
"Young Miss, your tea is ready."
"Thank you Lisa and Leena."
Lisa, with twin braids on her shoulders, and Leena with a ponytail, smiled at her as they stood beside the table.
Jevelyn inhaled the delicious aroma of cinnamon mixed with lemon before blowing the steam and slowly sipping the tea.
The clashes between swords gradually increase as two figures moved so smoothly. Jevelyn tilted her head and watch her brothers sparring as sweats trickled from their foreheads down to their necks as their shirts were soaked.
The knights of the Duchy also watched the intense battle between the two males as maids gathered around to see and admired the half nakedness of the knights.
It didn't take long for the battle to end as Kragen was pronounce as the winner. Kragen helped Alwynn getting up as he patted his shoulder and gave him guidance. Watching their serious expression, Jevelyn chuckled as she compared their present expression and their faces when they're around her.
As if hearing her laughter, the two swirled their heads towards her direction and immediately had a blown smile on their faces as their eyes sparkled in excitement.
"Kgh!"
Jevelyn was surprised as it came all so sudden.
The knights followed her brothers gazed and smiled while shaking their heads at their leader's expression. Even though Jevelyn was only 10 years old, she could very well understand the knights thoughts.
'As expected, my brothers are truly a sis-con but...they're cute so its fine.'
Jevelyn smoothly went back to sipping her tea underneath the canopy, not far from the training ground. She could feel her brother's movements as their feet thudded against the ground with a hint of urgency.
"Lynie!"
Calling her nickname, she turned her head and waved towards them.
"How was the training?"
Kragen and Alwynn sat in front of her and Lisa and Leena served them their teas.
"It was great! Although, I couldn't defeat Older brother."
"....you will get there."
Kragen comforted his brother with a smile before offering the biscuits to Jevelyn.
"How are you feeling these days, Lynie.
"I've been better, Big brother. I walked for hours and never felt so good as before."
"Hmm. Just make sure to rest when you're tired."
"Yes, I will!"
"Commander."
A knight softly apologize and greeted her before whispering some words to Kragen.
Kragen's expression changed from a soft to a serious look with a hardened expression. Jevelyn could tell that he was being summoned from the palace.
"Big Brother don't worry about me. I will be fine."
Kragen frowned as his jaw moved before sighing. He stood from his seat and kneeled in one knee as he held both of Jevelyn's hand. Kragen looked at the differences of their hands before looking up on Jevelyn.
"I will leave Axis behind to protect you. I know your inside the mansion but even on the safety areas, it will be inevitable for danger to happen. Alwynn and I will be heading to the palace and will not be back till late at night."
"Hmm, I understand. Be careful on the road, Big brother and brother."
"We will."
The two men bend down and each kissed her forehead before turning around to leave. The man who came to deliver the message bowed his head and quickly followed his master as a couple of knights, in their uniforms, followed as well.
Looking at their backs, Jevelyn remembered her past life and understood of why the original Jevelyn had so much hatred on her heart. Shaking the thought out of her head, she walked towards her place, which was farther from the Dukes office and the places where he frequently visited.
**********|
As the moon was high up on the night sky, a quiet swish can be heard as a soft rugged breath accompanied with movements sounded within the forest and the lake.
This was the place where Jevelyn drowned and it has been her secret place whenever she wanted to train. Practicing all by herself and copying her brothers movements, the knights, and also mixing the memories that she had from her previous life, Jevelyn could be labeled as a sword genius but because of her small stature and at her age, she had to slowly make her body adjust to a state where executing the most difficult sword movement will be easy as slicing piece of pie.
Taking a break, she walked towards the tree where her towel hang on the lowest branch. Wiping her sweats off, the nightly breeze cooled her body before swinging her sword behind her as the tip of the metal pierced the flesh and the scent of blood entered her nose.
"Who are you? How did you get inside the duchy, undetected?"
Jevelyn's cold voice interrogated the unidentified man who stood a head and a half. Looking at his appearance, she could predict that he's probably around 15 years old.
His black hair moved so smoothly with the wind. His piecing red eyes stared at her with a glint of excitement. His mouth had a small smile at the corner as he look down on her.
What bothered Jevelyn the most was his presence. She couldn't feel anything until he was nearby. And his slouchy and lazy attitude, not caring that the tip of the sword had stabbed him on the right side of his chest.
"You have a good swordsmanship. Wait, let me correct that, your a genius."
The man smiled at her as shivers traveled from her spine to her skin. She could feel that this man is very dangerous .
"Answer my question. What are you doing inside the mansion?"
Jevelyn pressed her sword as it went deeper into his skin as the blood slowly soaked his white shirt.
"Hmm, feisty, like a cat, I like it."
"Tell me who you are or you won't see another day to live."
The man raised his brows as Jevelyn was ready to commence in battle. He sigh before smiling and disappearing in a flash.
"Wha--"
"My little feral cat, you hurt my feelings."
