Chapter 1 - Pride

I was lounging around in my chamber, reading about the adventures of my father, the Warrior King, Murib when I heard a hard knock on my door. Confused on who dared to do such thing, I flung the door wide open only to see none other than the Head of Army and my father's right hand, Althari. "You dare knock on my precious door with such strength" I scorned. He stood indifferent and responded, "Your majesty, has commanded you to leave this palace within a day".

I paused then asked, "Come again?". He emptied his throat and repeated the same sentence in a robotic tone. I immediately darted to my father's chamber, then to the throne room. I found him sitting there in anticipation. "You've heard what Althari has said, now pack you bags and go"

"But father why!" I yelled.

"You have lived in this palace for 20 long years, leeching off my riches and have yet to do a single good deed now, GO!" he yelled, slamming his hand down upon his golden plated arm rest. I left the room with my head down low. Where would I go now. I only knew a few places nearby but if I went there without my guards, I'd be robbed or even worse killed. I had no sword training and no guards, I was fucked.

I packed my bags slowly, thinking of a way out of this mess but nothing came to mind. I paced slowly through the corridors until I reached the weapons room. I stole my father's most valuable blade and took some light armour and made off with it.

I went out into the piercing sun alone for the first time in years and it looked magnificent. I pulled up my collar and pulled it over my sharp nose to use as a mask and quickly walked off towards the outskirts. The farther out I went from the castle, the more rundown the buildings looked. I'd never seen such things outside of paintings of war. After a painful One hour of walking, I finally made it to the gates. I quickly showed the guards a letter which said I'd been exiled and they let me out into the forest. Suddenly, fear began to set in, I'd never been here before alone and I heard Dhibos liked to eat Human flesh and I was quite rounded myself. I stayed near the clear cut path and walked on until sun set.

Night came and I laid down on a rock surrounded by bushes and covered myself in my green sheets which blended into the surroundings. Hours passed but I still couldn't fall asleep until I heard steps. I heard a crackling noise which began to approach me and could see light peeking through the crack between the blanket and floor. My heart raced as it was peeled open and I was revealed. My eyes adjusted and I made out a group of men dressed in rags. "Isn't this the Prince?" asked one.

"I think so, hey look, he has a bag" said another. They all rushed like hounds towards my bag and emptied it. "No valuables?" he asked turning the bag and shaking it. I shook my head. The first one grabbed my neck and realised my necklace. "You liar!" he shrieked. Like Dhibos, they pounced onto me and beat me to the brink of death. Oh how I hated them, My Father and the world. On my last breaths, I swore revenge upon this dreadful world.
