When he was disguised as a university student the last time, Zane colored his hair brown. When he got back to England -- to his grandfather's great dismay -- he dyed it purple again.
Lord Marcus Caldwell disliked the bright, eccentric color. He always complained about it whenever he met with this grandson of his, but Zane did not care even a little bit. It was part of his identity, he said. He never wanted to be a gloomy vampire who was stuck with traditional values.
A Caldwell he might be, but he was Zane Caldwell.
Interestingly, it was also this rebellious trait of his that attracted Brett Youngshaper in the first place.
Zane did not know whether his plan would work out or not. He just wanted Brett to see him the way he was. Zane Caldwell, devoid of any kind of disguise.
"Zane...?"
Relief flooded Zane's head when he heard Brett calling his name.
"So you still remember me," he quipped.
