Despite the initial joy of being allowed to spend the next months in a beautiful suite, it was still not the same as staying at her own home. When the time came for Aiden to go, Grandma Thompson immediately burst into tears.
The old woman had not even parted with her grandson for a day in the past twelve years. The thought of having to leave Aiden to live alone at Harrow Lane pained her immensely.
"Aiden, you must take care of yourself," she repeated her instruction.
"I will, Grandma."
"Don't eat junk food. Cook every day," she said again.
"Yes, Grandma," Aiden obediently promised his grandmother.
"And when you have time… Please come and visit me."
The elderly woman started to sob in her lavish VIP suite. She knew that she was adding more burden to Aiden's plate, but what else could she do? She was going to miss her only grandson so much.
