"A human being?"
One of them furrowed his brows.
"What is a human being doing in this town?"
There were five of them. Those who were squatting by the roadside rose to their feet. The one who was leaning against the graffiti-laden wall stood up straight.
They all directed their curious gazes at Aiden.
Aiden wanted to run, but his feet refused to obey him. In the end, the five vampires came for him.
They formed a circle and surrounded the terrified young man.
Aiden froze on spot, staring at the vampires around him in growing trepidation. They sniffed at him and looked at him as if he was the most fascinating animal in a zoo.
"Is he really a human being?" one of them asked, doubtful about the nature of Aiden's sudden appearance in Stonewick.
"Dude, are you stupid? Can't you smell a human being?"
"Honestly, I haven't seen human beings here for like... years."
"Hmm, he smells so good..."
"But he's so pretty. How can a mere human being be so pretty?"
