"My senior at the university," Aiden answered off-handedly.
The word "my" did not improve Ryan's mood at all. If anything, it worsened his mood.
"You cannot go," the vampire decided.
Aiden looked up at the vampire in disbelief. Did Ryan Caldwell just tell him that he was not allowed to go home? Could he do that?
Aiden felt the urge to correct the esteemed hospital director's mistaken point of view.
"With all due respect, Mr. Caldwell, I am not a prisoner in this hospital, am I?"
A smile laced Ryan's lips when he tilted his chin up in a pompous manner and answered.
"Of course, you are not a prisoner. You are a patient, and I as a doctor reserve the right to prevent you from doing anything rash that might impact your recovery."
"I am fine," Aiden said stubbornly. "I am just... I need to go back home today. When I go back, I will rest the whole day. I will recover just fine after a night of rest. I can go to university normally the next day."
