Regretfully, Ryan had an urgent, last-minute matter to attend to at White Chapel the next Wednesday. Aiden thus showed up alone at the Parent-Teacher Association meeting. The meeting was held monthly, but not all parents could make it every month.
The members were required to attend at least nine out of twelve months. This month's meeting took place just a few days before the winter break officially began.
When Aiden opened the door to the meeting room that day, all manners of conversation ceased to exist in an instant. All pairs of eyes flew in his direction. He already anticipated it, but he still felt rather uncomfortable.
The Head of the Parent-Teacher Association was Mrs. Whittletown. She was a mother of three perfect children, as she often described them -- one boy and two daughters. The boy was in the sixth grade while the girls were respectively in fourth and third grades.
"Mr... Caldwell, no?"
