The rabid vampires watched the precious blood flow out with conspicuous hunger reflected on their faces.
The only reason why they didn't pounce on Ryan was the fact that they feared the pure-blood vampire.
Ryan put a few drops of his blood into a small spraying device. He then sprayed its content into the air. The red mist slowly dissipated into the air, sending small droplets of blood onto the waiting rabid vampires. When they inhaled the droplets into their lungs, they made loud sucking sounds.
Afterward, the rabid vampires calmed down rapidly. Their breathing became even, and the manic urgency to leave their lair disappeared from their eyes.
"Do you still hear anyone calling for you?" Ryan directed his question at the rabid vampires.
All of them shook their heads.
"No, all gone," they said. "There is nothing left."
Awkwardly, they all returned to their posts, leaving Aiden, Ryan, Dania, and Victor.
