Aiden regained consciousness a while later when the truck that carried him shook from side to side.
Some deliberation allowed him to realize that he was tied up inside a cardboard box.
"Careful," a woman's voice hissed angrily. "You are going to wake him up."
Aiden recognized the owner of the voice immediately. It was Cheryl Matthews.
"Mom, we poisoned him. Even if he's awake, he won't be able to do anything."
It was none other than Alain. Alain, his half-brother.
Aiden wanted to curl his fingers to fists, but he was unable to. Just like Alain said, he was unable to do anything. His entire body was numb from head to toe.
To make things worse, his entire face was wrapped with something thick. If he were still alive, he would suffocate for sure.
Aiden was able to open neither his eyes nor his mouth.
Even if Aiden were able to do the latter, he did not know what to say. He was speechless.
