Harvey Irving thought that he was perfectly disguised. He did not at all expect to meet someone who knew and recognized him at the train station. When he heard his name being called in such a familiar tone, his first instinct was to run away.
But if he did, he was sure to evoke the suspicion of the other person. So Harvey just froze on the spot and turned his head to look at Aiden, one of his elder brother's best friends.
Aiden marched toward Harvey with a frown.
"Harv? What are you doing here? Where are you going?"
"I..."
Harvey's eyes darted left and right in panic. He resembled a small animal who was looking for a way out of a difficult situation.
"Harvey."
Aiden grabbed James' younger brother by the shoulders.
"Answer me. This is a difficult time to go anywhere. Are you going on a school trip?"
Given the life buoy to save himself, Harvey quickly grabbed onto it and lied as convincingly as possible.
"Yes! Yes!" he shouted with sparkling eyes. "I am!"
