I found myself in a bathtub but it didn't seem like I was in a bathroom. It was dark and then I started adjusting to the little light in the room. I realised it was a small candle next to the bathtub. I sat up and scanned my surroundings. The bathtub was empty without a single drop of water and there was no tap either.
I looked down on the ground and there were dry leaves. Leaves were dropping from above yet there wasn't any tree. With the small light I could only see the nearest points. The place was starting to be scary with the eerie silence.
I didn't get the time to freak out before I felt the itch on my shoulder. This time it was on the outside.
I started scratching it immediately. I felt the faint burn but it just itched more I felt like peeling the skin off.
I squinted my eyes trying to look at my itchy shoulder clearly. I held the candle and held it up close to my shoulder.Unlike earlier, this time there was a red mark forming on the itchy spot. I felt the feeling again. As if bugs were moving inside my skin. Slowly the mark was changing to blood red. It was painful and uncomfortable and I screamed in pain.
There was something forming on my shoulder. Like a mark or label. It was rearranging and disassembling rapidly increasing the discomfort. Tears rolled down my eyes due to the pain.
It suddenly stopped and there was no itch or mark anymore. I sighed in relief thanking whatever stopped it inwardly. I remembered that I was in a strange place and I had to look for a way to leave.
I got up from the tub and held the candle to find out a way out of here.
I was a little scared of the dark. I looked around holding onto the small candle I had. I was anxious and it was evident with the sweat forming on my forehead. Occasionally, I would snap behind me feeling scared. I kept looking around in fear of meeting something dangerous.
I kept moving forward even when my hope was growing thin. I held onto the small candle that I considered as my only friend in this situation. I was walking in an empty space with just leaves all this while. Then I was something that looked like a rock. It looked exactly like the one Daniel showed me with the power of the Kalis.
I moved closer to observe it clearly. I extended my hand to touch it but for some reason I couldn't. As I got closer, it seemed more distant. I started walking to it even when I knew it was right in front of me. I was running after it but it went further and further but I was sure it was just in the same place. I was tired so I decided to stop.
It was right in front of my eyes but when I extended my hand it was far away even without moving an inch. I cried out loud. I felt helpless and hopeless. I knew it was dream but something in me felt real.
I was still crying when I felt the itch on my shoulder return. "No no no this can't be happening again."I muttered in pain.
Just like before I started scratching but this time I was more aggressive. I wiped my tears and got up still scratching. I looked at the candle and thought of pouring some candle wax on the itchy spot. I raised the candle ready to pour. When I bend it, I waited for the hot wax to touch my skin as I closed my eyes. It took long so I opened my eyes.
'How's this possible?Why won't any wax drop? '
I came to realise the candle was the same size and shape as I had picked it. It didn't burn or be smaller. 'I can't believe this.' When I looked behind me, the bathtub was just one step away. Unbelievable! I have been walking for a long time and now the bathtub is just one step away. Wow!
'Maybe if I go back to the bathtub, I will be able to fin. a way back home. I lay down and closed my eyes to sleep. All my efforts were in vain because I couldn't find any sleep.I cursed under my breath. I massaged my sculp and took deep breaths to relax.
I heard footsteps and jerked up anxiously. I had to be alert. I started looking in every direction to see who it is. I felt a pull from behind that made me lie down in the bathtub like I was."Who's there?"
There was no response but I decided to stay calm even if my heart was racing. I felt hand touch my hair. It was gentle which made me think it must be a woman. She massaged my head and reminded me of my mum.
The massage was too soothing to resist. My head was starting to feel light but I refused to accept it."Who are you?" My voice was a little low due to the sleep I was feeling.
There was no response from the other end. I wasn't feeling the itch anymore . I couldn't keep my eyes open. I slowly started drifting off to sleep. "Shh sleep my child. Keep the candle burning and don't lose your strength. You are more powerful
than what you can imagine."
The voice was faint but I heard each word. The voice was so similar to mum's. Was that her? "Mum mum mum" I didn't know I was shouting at the top of my voice.
"Sama wake up,it's me."
I was drenched in sweat when I woke up. I saw Sam's worried face and I hugged him tight. I didn't realise how awkward it was for some seconds. I felt my blood rush to my cheeks. "I ah.... sorry about that." he smiled.
"It's okay Sama." I noticed that his shirt was a little wet with my sweat. Oh no! What have I done? I rushed to the bathroom. I looked at the bathtub and remembered my dream. I looked at my shoulder. There was no mark at all. Strange.
I guess I should get used to all this. I went in to freshen up and took a mental note to act like nothing happened. I looked through my wardrobe and found shirt that I had stolen from my dad. I thought for a while and decided to give to Sam since I had dirtied his with my sweat.
I got dressed up and took the dryer to dry dry my hair. I took the shirt to Sam. "This was my dad's until I stole it from him. It's a little old fashioned but it's better than one wet with my sweat." he chuckled and got up to where I was." Mmhh Let me dry your hair."
