With winter coming, many animals would be busy going into hibernation. So it won't be a surprise if Dav's string was moved.
But the string wasn't moved. It was pulled.
Frad passed the umbrella to Dav, as Dav took the lead.
Sprinting towards the string that was pulled, they saw two figures by the tree.
Elda looked at her bleeding hand, "Well, that's interesting."
"Why did you do that?" Sanosuke looked at the floating blood as he turned his head to see two people coming. One was holding an umbrella, and the other was trying to keep up.
The one holding the umbrella halted, followed by the partner.
"Ah, are we going to battle?" Elda stretched her head.
"Can't you kill them like how you claimed you could kill me?" Sanosuke asked as Elda shook her head.
"I'm suffering from blood loss, so I can't." She denied, "Besides, they have not killed anyone before."
"How do you tell?" Sanosuke's smell is weakened by the rain, so he can't get any more information other than their presence.
"They have no bloodlust, those that you get the more you kill, like you." She replied, "What's the time now?"
"I don't have a watch.." He looked up, "The cloud is blocking too."
Dav asked Frad, "They ain't attacking. Are they just passing through?"
"Who knows." Frad was getting ready for any sneak attacks.
At the corner of her eyes, she saw two more figures coming.
"One of them.." Elda muttered, "Has bloodlust." Sanosuke nails turned sharper, "I will attack the one with bloodlust, and we run."
"Run? Run where? Go back where we come from?" Sanosuke looked at the two new figures slowly approaching.
"Run towards the ones that's here first, hey what's your power too? Turning your nails sharp?" Elda suddenly asked, "Cause that's kinda lame."
"Is it really the time for it?" He almost shouted as his whisper turned harsh, "Let's just escape first."
"Is the two enemies a threat?" Kate asked Sezia, who gulped.
"I can see different kinds of threats, if red means it has the potential to be changed, if it's shades of grey it means its unchangeable." Sezia quickly explained her abilities, "One of them is grey."
Kate's grip on the handle tightened, "Are we going to die?"
"As long the healer is alive, I doub-." Something shot towards Kate, "What?!" Sezia quickly blocked it, 'It's faster than my ability!' The projectile shot Sezia's shoulder, as blood stained her hoodie.
The two figures quickly ran towards Dav and Frad, as two more projectiles shot out.
Frad quickly raised his arm and jumped in front of Dav, as one missed his right eye, hitting the umbrella while the other hit his stomach, causing him to hunch over.
The two figures dashed past them, as Frad quickly raised his arm, Dav already had his string ready.
Frad threw the string towards them, catching the figure carrying a bag.
"Well screw you!" Elda cursed out loud, feeling the string getting tighter and almsot tripping, as Sanosuke almost slipped and fell, quickly running back to Elda, "Go! Run! I will catch up!" She shouted over the pouring rain as he gritted his teeth, trying to cut the string with his nails, "Trust me!" He stared at her as she used her right hand and held his hand, "I will be back before the blood dries up."
He closed his eyes for a moment and nodded, hurried away.
The rain slowly stopped as Elda stopped struggling too.
"Why did you attack us?" Dav asked as he strolled over, looking at Elda as she placed her other hand into her pocket.
Elda shrugged her shoulders. As Frad looked at her bag, Dav followed his gaze.
"What's in the bag?" Dav asked, pulling the string tighter till more blood spilled from her wrist, but he stopped pulling seeing her nonchalant expression.
Kate and Sezia finally caught up to them, "What did you do?" She demanded an answer, "I can't heal her." She wanted to use both her hand to strangle for an answer.
"It just feel like I got hit by a rubber band, chill.." Sezia held Kate's shoulder.
"You're a healer?" Elda wondered out loud, "That's surprising."
"Dav, your string is going to create too much pressure on her wrist." She leaned over to him and whispered, "Her wrist will break."
"She doesn't care." Frad said out loud, "Also we can all hear you.. the rain had stopped long ago."
"Ah!" Kate's face reddened a little, as she went and hid behind Sezia, who took a step to the side, "Next time I won't heal you again." She mumbled under her breath. while crossing her arms.
Elda chuckled, "You ain't going to wonder where my pal went?" She smirked, "Ain't you worried about the kids?"
The string tightened, as sounds of hurried footsteps suddenly appeared as quickly as it faded.
Cracked
"Were you sent by Zero?" Sezia calmly asked, as the rest stared at her, "Or Hel?"
"Hel?" She mumbled under her breath, Elda pupils shrunk a little, 'She's alive?'
"Zero doesn't sound like someone who would do this." Kate whispered to Sezia, "Right?"
The clouds slowly dispersed, as a ray of sunlight peek at them.
"Alright, enough chat." Elda glanced at Sezia, "Say..do you know how to summon a demon?" Her other hand slipped out of her pocket.
"H-huh?" That question stunned Sezia, "Who does?" Before Seiza glanced at Kate and Dav, "Retreat!" She quickly leaped away, the two followed in her lead, creating a distance between them.
"Hel knows," Elda forced her wrist forward, causing the string to pull apart her wrist, "Grow stronger."
Dav's eyes widened at the sight, as blood shot out from her wrist.
Sezia's pupils shook, as the grey she saw slowly turned darker than before as the light shone brighter.
"If you want to protect what you have now," Her arm dropped to her side, as blood kept flowing out, her head lowered as her hair blocked her face, light particles covered her wrist, "Become so strong you won't be in the clouds,"
She reappeared beside Sezia, putting her glowing hand on her head, and whispered something softly, and disappeared.
The blood that spilled on the ground turned to glowing light particles, as light particles also escaped from Sezia's wound.
"What was that?" Dav slowly walked towards the light particles, "Is this her power?"
Kate looked at the clouds that were leaving, and Elda's word's kept ringing in everyone's head.
"Is she a demon?" Kate asked, looking at where she disappeared from, staring at Sezia, who was still rooted to the ground.
"A demon can't use the sun's power." Dav reminded, "And legend said that angels' blood turns to particles when the sun shines. Thus only the battlefield is covered with demon blood, while covered by a sea of light particles."
"Both of them are such a contrast.." Kate added, "I understand if demons invade humanity, but why angels too?" She questioned, looking up at the sky.
Dav shrugged, "Who knows, maybe they ain't as good as legends said."
"But isn't there a mention that," Kate scanned the area, looking for the dropped umbrella, "When an angel kills, their wings would turn black, and they would no longer be angels."
"Didn't I tell you to run?" Elda found Sanosuke hiding behind a tree nearby, "Come on, let's go."
Sanosuke saw the light particles and questioned, "Elda, are you an angel?" He turned around only to see a big distance between them. He quickly quickened his pace, trying to catch up to her again.
Sezia took a deep breath, before letting it out again. Her hand touched her head, as she looked up. She glanced and saw Dav and Kate running around trying to find the umbrella they dropped.
"Miss Sezia!" She turned towards the voice and saw Otta running, "Mr Frad is being way too suspicious! Is everything alr-." She saw the light particles slowly going to the sky, "Woah!"
River also caught up, panting hard as he followed Otta's gaze, and a wide smile plastered on his face, "Holy moly! So pretty!"
Sezia's arm dropped to her side, 'To think such a gruesome thing would become so pretty.' A smile slowly crept on her face, "Yeah."
"Call the others!" River exclaimed, "Let's take a photo with this!"
"There won't be enough time for a photo," Seiza's footsteps became light as she approached them, "Let's just call the others to enjoy this moment."
"Reinforcement here!" Dealla yelled, before seeing what happened, "No more battle?"
"Fairylights!" Kinsei exclaimed, "So many!"
Reginald slowed down his steps, and watched as the remaining few light particles escaped from the ground.
'Cool..'
