My journey to Magus Academy will begin in an hour. As soon as I woke I groggily pulled my self out of the comfort of my bed and headed into the shower, I exited the shower and began changing into my uniform which consists of; a grey trouser, white long sleeved shirt, a red tie, grey vests, a pair of dress shoes and an onyx coat on top of the it all. I looked at myself with the use of a large mirror before nodding my head in approval. Not bad, not bad, I've got to give props to Leonard for his good taste in clothing but that's the only compliment he'll ever get from me. I went downstairs and straight to the kitchen, as soon as I arrived the aroma hit me hard. There she was,My mother is many things, she's warm, she's caring, she's also a kick as mage, among all else she was a goddess in the kitchen.
I watched her dance around the kitchen gracefully moving already cooked breakfast from the kitchen to the dining room, her snow white hair tied to a loose ponytail, her skin was pale and unblemished with jade colored eyes that gleamed with care and a bit of mischief, adorning a simple shirt and faded jeans and an apron to top it all. After hearing my foot steps heading her way she turned to face me before offering a warm smile.
"Good morning sweetie, you sleep well?", she asked me as she handed me a plate filled with two slices of toast, scrambled eggs, three strips of bacon and a cup of coffee by the side.
"Yeah, I somehow managed to, you two weren't exactly subtle about it, though, I'm still a bit surprised to see you walking around normally even after the unholy activities you and dad partook in". I replied with a slight smirk etched across my face.
She folded her hands beneath her bust and scoffed half-heartedly, " I'm sure I recall being skilled at
[healing magic] thank you very much. She replied unashamedly, "besides you should blame your father for it, if he didn't make you do the council's dirty work I wouldn't need vent my frustration on him. If you ask me he got of easy, he's lucky I couldn't find my whip in time to make things more interesting". She said while licking her lips with a sickly sweet smile on her face.
...I should probably change the subject, after finishing my breakfast I decided to speak, "I'll be leaving for Symark in a few minutes, Father's probably waiting for me outside". I wiped my face clean of all the crumbs before standing. My old man probably had breakfast before I woke up so I won't be surprised if our personal carriage is already waiting for me, I already packed my luggages so I decided to put them in the carriage last night. I'm true with easy so here comes the difficult part... the departure.
"Oh... right, you'll be going to the academy", she looked away sullenly. It looks like she still hasn't gotten over it.
In an attempt to cheer her up, embraced her into a warm hug, "mom, you know I wouldn't be gone forever, plus we can still keep in touch via magic". I knew it wouldn't be enough to cheer her completely, but enough to slightly quirk the corner of her lips upwards.
"I'll miss you, and try not to get into to much trouble okay?", she asked with a slight chuckle.
"I make no promises".
"Just... hurry up and leave before I decide to chain you here forever", she pulled her self out of the hug to look away. She didn't need to tell me twice, I decided to
bolt out of the house not before yelling a quick 'goodbye' and 'love you'.
Well, that was pretty nerve-racking. I kinda expected her to use some binding spells to keep me from leaving. So, all things considered it could have been much worse. Sometimes I wish my mom wasn't such a doting parent. If things took a bad turn I would have just let dad handle it.
"Well damn, didn't think she'd let go so soon".
Well speak of the devil. I simply glared at my father as I met him leaning on the wall, we waltzed over to where the personal carriage was parked. We had a lot of carriages, probably has something to do with the fact of my family being somewhat noble, not that I cared. The carriage was cube like in shape with the exterior being coloured deep black that seemed to absorb all the light, it's edges were gold in colour.
The carriage would be pulled by a pair of full grown, light brown stallions. Our chauffeur stood in front the carriages doors, waiting patiently for arrival. He opened the doors for the both to enter, we regarded him with a small nod before taking our seats, my father and I both sat across each other already getting comfortable on the leather seats.
The carriage started moving steadily towards the gate as I caught my father flick his hand from the corner of my eye. Space distorted at the gate of the mansion as a circular portal with a tint of purple was created. It's honestly not that surprising, after all I did study a lot of 'Spacetime Magic' spells a few years ago, and it turns out that 'Teleportation Magic' so happens to be one of them. Teleportation Magic; by creating a stable wormhole that connects two points permitting faster-than-light travel. It's a very high level magic because of the drawback of making a mistake. Just a little misstep could cause the portal to go haywire, pulling anything in it's range into it for a few seconds. Once you get pulled in you could end up in a random location.
The scenery changed in an instant as the carriage pulled through the portal.
