"What the hell, is going on?"
This single thought ran through the minds of the sorcerers as Maki and Kashimo stopped their battle and turned their attention to Takaba. Who was sitting at a wooden lunch table with a grin on his face, he propped his elbow on the table, before resting his chin on his fist. Kenjaku and Uraume quickly glanced at each other, before they nodded and dashed back gaining distance away from Takaba.
They slid past several tables before they noticed that the cafeteria was seemingly endless. Kenjaku could only scoff. For the first time ever, he was completely stumped. He had zero clue what Takaba's curse technique could be. Sensing, Kenjaku's confusion, Takaba glanced towards his direction and spoke.
" You know, traditional fighting is quite boring. I think...A food fight would be a lot more fun. " Kenjaku started to glance around the cafeteria confused, until he asked a question. " A food fight?- " Before Kenjaku could finish talking, a sudden tomato slammed into his temple, snapping his head back.
Kenjaku stumbled back, as tomato juice dripped down his face, he quickly wiped his face using his robe. And he shouted out. " What the hell is your cursed technique? " All around the cafeteria, various food was flying around slamming into the sorcerers. Maki gritted her teeth frustrated, until she slashed at a watermelon hurling towards her slicing it in half. The watermelon crashed onto the ground, spilling everywhere.
She took a few steps, rippling the watermelon juice on the floor until she lunged at Takaba cracking the white tile of the cafeteria, in a flash, she appeared behind Takaba wildly swinging her blade at the back of his neck. The sword pierced through the air until it collided with Takaba's neck. However, the sword didn't pierce instead the metal blade bounced off Takaba's neck.
Maki stared at her blade in astonishment. Unbeknownst to Maki, her blade was turned into a plastic toy. She stumbled back holding her sword tightly, before vibrant lightning shot towards Maki and Takaba. Maki could only look at the lightning before it slammed into her body sending courses of pain rippling through her body.
The pain was so sharp, that it caused Maki to collapse on one knee. Maki gasped for air, as smoke covered her scorched body. She glanced up at Kashimo, who glared at her. He took a few steps forward until he spoke while tightly holding onto his staff. " It's time for you to die. For my first battle in hundreds of years, you weren't bad. But still, you were nothing more than a warm-up. "
Kashimo waved his palm in the air, leaving a trail of lightning in the air, until the lightning shot forward hurling towards Maki, Maki's face was illuminated blue, as the lightning inched closer and closer to her face. The lightning was mere inches away from Maki's face, until... It morphed into colorful confetti? Maki and Kashimo were dumbfounded, in unison they looked over toward Takaba, who was now wearing green swimming trunks with elephants on them.
" Clearly, Y'all aren't enjoying the food fight, so how about this? " As soon as Takaba said this, the cafeteria disappeared and was replaced by a massive beach. Maki's feet were buried in sand before she gingerly stood up, still wobbling from Kashimo's attack. Maki took a deep breath before she heard someone speak.
" Doesn't this bring back memories Uraume, this looks like Dagon's domain. " Said Kenjaku standing next to Uraume, as soon as, Maki heard this, anger swept through her body. The thought of losing Mai ran through her mind. The thought of her sister being forced to work with Mute for her safety.
Maki spun around and yelled to Kenjaku asking him a question. " Where is Mute?! " Kenjaku shrugged his shoulders before responding. " No clue, me and him went our separate ways. But why does it matter to you, you can't beat him. " Maki scoffed at the comment before she responded. " Maybe in the past, but I've grown stronger. " Kenjaku looked at Maki slightly confused, unbeknownst to Kenjaku, Maki made a binding vow, betting on herself.
The binding vow is as follows. Maki has two weeks to retrieve Mai, if she fails to do so, she will be paralyzed or killed. In return for betting on herself, Maki gains a huge physical buff, quadrupling her speed and strength but her lack of curse energy remains the same. In dire situations the buff to her physical prowess increases going from quadrupling to times ten.
With this binding vow, Maki could even keep up with Kashimo, even though truthfully he wasn't giving it his all. With this binding vow, Maki truly believes she will be able to kill Mute. Will her dream come true, only time will tell. But for now, back on the beach. The sorcerers stood around motionlessly, glancing at each other. Silence engulfed the stunning beach, only the sound of rushing waves could be heard.
Until Takaba let out a grunt and spoke. " Wow. You all are quite boring. Here about this. Snap " With a snap of his fingers Takaba caused a massive buffet of delicious food to appear directly in front of the sorcerers. On several metal grills. The sorcerers looked at the grills unsure of what to do, until Takaba spoke again.
" What are you waiting for, the food isn't poisoned or anything... Even though that would be quite funny. " Right when, Takaba thought of this, the gorgeous food morphed, the food turned purple, and a purple haze started to float off the food. Takaba glanced down at the food until he murmured under his breath. " Damn it. I mess up again. Why do I always mess something up? "
This slight mistake might not seem to be much but due to Takaba's inexperience with his curse technique, he had just revealed what his cursed technique was. Kenjaku's eyes widened, as a cruel grin crept on his twisted face and he spoke. " So, that what's your cursed technique is. How powerful. "
This battle will soon change from a playful one to a brutal one...
