" Gen Zenin has flawlessly destroyed his opponent and will move on to the fifth bracket of the tournament. "
Yells out the announcer as the crowd starts to roar out in applause. I start walking towards the stairs that lead off the stage with an annoyed look on my face. Every single battle I have been in has either been life or death. But for the first time, I was bored during a fight.
Hakuri was an amateur at best. As a matter of fact he was more of an idiot than an amateur. He relied on his technique far too much. He never once engaged me without using his technique. I even went as far as to say he was trying to trick me by acting scared. How laughable that is in hindsight.
I start to step off the stage as I feel thousands of eyes glaring at me some with anger, others with admiration. I look into the crowd before taking the final step off the stairs. As soon as I stepped off the stairs a snarly voice talked towards me.
" Hey Gen, thanks for not embarrassing the Zenin clan unlike that loser over there. "
Said Naoya pointing over his shoulder using his thumb. I glanced over his shoulder and locked eyes with Maki and a girl standing next to her. I just nodded my head at him before walking past him.
But while walking past him. I felt a killing intent glaring at me. I looked over towards the feeling and locked eyes with the girl standing next to Maki again. Her eyes were like a snake, she's focused on my jugular. She is probably thinking of hundreds of ways to kill me right now.
I pivot my right foot and start walking towards her, catching her off guard. I take three more steps until Maki suddenly grabs onto the girl's right shoulder and talks.
" We're both from the Zenin clan. There's no need to fight each other. "
I stare at Maki with an amused look on my face before Naoya walks over to my side and speaks to Maki.
" Since when did you become a pacifist Maki? Did losing to Inumaki really destroy your confidence? Besides we're the Zenin clan the only thing we do is fight among each other. "
Maki's calm poker face snaps as she stares at Naoya with killing intent. The air crackles from the tension between the two glaring at each other. Maki and Naoya's hands start to twitch ready to gouge out each other's hearts until suddenly the announcer once again roars out.
" The third match is ready to begin. Will Nayoa Zenin and Koia Zenin please walk onto the stage? "
Naoya looked over towards the announcer on the stage before scoffing and walking towards him. Naoya walks with his arms behind his back but before he walks onto the stage. He left one final remark.
" Maki and Mai please watch and take some notes maybe then, you can escape the assassins that are going to be sent after you, Maki. "
That's right, I forgot all about Naobito's warning. I didn't think about it since I knew I wasn't going to lose. But after this tournament, I'm sure Maki is going to be expelled from the Zenin clan. I stare at Maki catching her attention. She glances at me with a confused look.
She needs to talk to Naobito and convince him not to expel her from the clan. I truly don't care if Maki gets expelled but seeing her and Naoya bicker is quite amusing. I point towards my lips before pointing towards Naobito in the stands. The confused look on her face becomes serious as she instantly knows what I mean.
She balls up her fists and instantly walks past me in a powerful strut. Only leaving me and Mai staring at each other. The killing intent in her eyes hadn't decreased in the slightest. She must not trust me at all. I take a single step forward disappearing from her vision and reappearing behind her.
Her hair blows wildly in the wind from my movements. She glances back at me watching me walk away. I smirk at her feeling her eyes staring at my back. I look back before wiping the right side of my neck with my thumb. Mai's eyes widen as she feels blood leaking down the side of her neck.
She wipes off the blood using her hand. She glances at the blood on her fingers before looking back at me. I scoff at her before slipping through the crowd, disappearing...
