'If only the young master was here, he would have jumped up and down and also would have thrown a fit before kicking the girl right out of here. Hmm...' Butler Max thought and let out a deep sigh.
Whatever pity or sympathy he was feeling for the girl until now disappeared. All of a sudden, he felt irritated and now he felt hostile towards her. But then when he saw his master's enthusiastic face, the hostility he had for her slowly disappeared.
After hearing Harold's opinion, Mila's heart dropped at once. She thought that she could escape from her death sentence by using the grandkids as an excuse. But after seeing how Harold accepted his son's fate so easily, she wondered if she had made a big mistake.
'Even then he would definitely try to get a grandkid so that someone could carry on their family line. Then I must offer him something else which he could never refuse,' Mila simple mindedly decided.
As she finally got out of the initial shock, Mila at once shook her head and said,
"I am also not against the gay couple but what about the grandkids? Your grandkids? Don't you want to hold a bundle of joy in your hands and play with your grandkids? Grandkids will bring happiness and there is nothing in the world that could be comparable to having them in your life. They are an important part of all grandparents' lives. Are you really willing to miss such a golden opportunity that just knocked on your door unwillingly? Cough… cough… I mean, don't you want to meet your precious grandkids? Just think about holding the tiny hands and teaching them how to walk. Those tiny legs of your grandkids kicking your chest and just imagine how that would make you feel…"
Mila tried to tempt him as she kept pressing the word 'grandkids' so many times while talking about the importance of having grandchildren to Harold. She had such a determined look that meant,
'I will succeed in convincing your son to allow me to give birth to his kids. Don't worry, I am with you and I will produce your grandkids for you.'
Harold listened to her lengthy speech with utmost patience. At the same time, it was too much for Butler Max to hold it in and he opened his mouth to say something. But Harold waved his hand and stopped him once again.
'If we leave her then she would even talk about grown up grandkids and grandkid's grandkids… Grandkids getting married… then having kids of their own… There is no ending to this rant,' Butler Max thought and rolled his eyes.
Once Mila finished explaining her thoughts to Harold, he stood up from his chair quickly without saying a word to her or even looking at her. Harold's reaction made Mila think that she did not convince him enough to change his mind. She can't and won't back down so easily now that she was very close to her deathbed. She imagined losing her life in these hungry wolves' hands and mouths.
"No!" she screamed.
"I will try to conceive using natural methods with your son's permission. Or else you can kill me as you wish using your dogs or even with your fierce eyes." She hastily informed him.
After hearing her words, Harold stopped in his tracks and turned his head. His amusement had reached a new level by then and he decided to tease the young woman in front of him a little more.
"Fine! If you can give me a grandchild soon, then I will reconsider to spare your life as you wish," He said those words with great difficulty.
Then he walked away as fast as he could without looking behind him. It was getting too difficult for him to control his laughter any longer. If he stayed even a minute more then he would have rolled on the floor while holding his stomach as he laughed his heart out.
He can't believe that he would meet such a naïve girl in this modern day. Also, after hearing her speak, he kept reminded of his estranged wife who he dearly missed a lot these days.
Once Harold left, Butler Max signaled one of the maids to untie Mila's hands and legs. He then ordered the maid to bring Mila to a room and tend to her needs. After that he ran behind Harold to understand what his master was thinking while he allowed the odd girl to do as she wished.
When he found Harold going towards the back garden, Butler Max dashed after him and stopped right in front of him while he blocked his path. Harold looked up at Butler Max first and then behind him once.
As he made sure that no one was following them, Harold held the pillar next to him and laughed out aloud. Butler Max had a clueless face after noticing his Master laugh out so loud after a very long time. For a second, Butler Max thought that Harold was not heartbroken anymore. But after being with Harold for so long, he very well knew that it was not the case.
"Master, Master… Please change your decision. You have sworn that you would never interfere in your son's life unlike your father. Right now, what you did after hearing that strange girl's words is so wrong! We don't know yet if she was from the witch's family or not! If she is then we are putting the young master in harm's way," Butler Max spoke continuously without taking a breath.
Harold stopped laughing and patted Butler Max's shoulder. He then said with a small smile,
"Max, relax! I know what I am doing! Do you think just because I sent her my son's way, he would just accept her and give me an heir? Don't you know his situation better than me? Do you doubt my decision or do you think my son is still powerless and can't take care of himself?" He asked Butler Max.
Butler Max very well knows that Wade is not an easy target. Moreover, it was Butler Max who supported Wade's decision when he decided to move to the city from the forest. How could even he doubt Wade's power, when he had watched that boy grow up from birth. He could swear that there is no one as powerful as him in their clan. So he hurriedly said,
"No, Master, I would never, I swear! But Master… still..." Butler Max hesitated to continue as he still had an irk feeling about the girl in his mind.
He did not want anyone to get hurt; neither the girl nor his masters. But he could not pinpoint and say something that he himself was unsure about.
"Listen, Max. I don't know if she is innocent or she came with some evil plan in her mind. But what I am sure about is my son would be able to find out everything about her and he is smart enough to not fall into anyone's trap so easily. I trust him and you must also place your trust on my son." Harold explained to Butler Max in a calm voice.
