"A motel?" Ashley stood across the motel where they saw Ike and Holly enter. "Is this what a date is in this time and age?"
"Ike is a straightforward type of person," replied Bernis, standing beside Ashley. "Based on Holly's personality, this isn't a surprise."
"This is not a date, though."
Bernis side-eye. "Jealous?"
"Ew. I'm just thinking we have to wait here until those two are finished. I can't believe I'm even doing this dumb shit."
"Someone died."
"I know, and I don't care. Sullivan can just die a thousand more times for all I care. He's a piece of trash. Damn it. Why did he die —"
"Murdered."
"Right. Murdered." Ashley rolled her eyes and then continued, "Just why did he have to be murdered after a duel with a council member?"
"Because someone wants to frame the student council."
