Elias stared coldly at her, how dare she take his mask off and she wasn't feeling remorseful about it. The only people he let see his full face were his family. His dad and his sister, then a few of his workers. No one else has ever seen his complete face ever since he took over his dad's company. And now, a stranger whom he only met today dares to take off his mask and looked at his face. He honestly felt like strangling her to death right now, but he wouldn't do that. If he makes any mistake now, it would ruin the whole of his plans and that would be so bad for him.
"Can't you hear me? I asked you a question," he heard her ask and his anger rose to the brim. He stretched his hand to the back of her head and clenched part of her hair in his hand, bringing her head closer to him, causing her to flinch in pain.
"Don't you ever dare speak to me that way, understood?" He asked releasing her hair from his hold. "This is my room and you have no right to ask me why I'm here."
"Y..you mean, you'll be staying in this room with me?" Madeline asked in disbelief.
"Of course, I will. Did you forget that we are married and married couples stay in the same room? This is my room and my belongings are also here," Elias answered, and she looked around the room. What he said was right. This was his room and that was why she saw a few belongings like his watch here. She had thought someone had forgotten it in the room but now, she knew she was wrong. How was she going to share a room with someone like him? No this can't be. If she was going to stay in this house then she has to have her own room and personal space.
"You can't stay in this room. Have you forgotten that we are not a real married couple? One can't only get married by just signing some stupid papers," Madeline disagreed.
"That's your problem and not mine. You signed the marriage papers and that makes us officially a married couple. Your parents witnessed it too and your father even called you Mrs. Elias Johan."
"Don't call me that. That's not my name. This marriage is just a play. We didn't really get married. As I said, one can't get married by just signing a few papers. Did we exchange wedding rings? No. Did we exchange wedding vows? No. So this marriage is considered invalid. And don...."
"Don't get me angry by saying those words. I can do a lot more than you imagined," Elias warned, pointing a finger at her and she gulped.
"I...I was only saying the truth."
"Oh, you want a wedding ring? That's not going to happen. Wedding rings are for couples who got married with mutual feelings and we are not the same so stop deceiving yourself and trying to get a wedding ring from me," he spat.
"I don't want any wedding ring and I don't want to stay in the same room with someone like you," Madeline angrily said. She knew what he was trying to do. He wants to get her angry and that is working but he should know that her anger can be dangerous to him. Or that she thought.
"You have to get used to sharing this room with me and you have to get used to everything that will happen in this house. This is my mansion and not your father's. Now go to bed," he ordered.
"I told you I'm not going to share a room or the bed with you," she said, before heading towards the door but she felt a strong hand abruptly pull her back. She felt goosebumps on her skin and she shivered in fear. What if he was going to touch her and have his way with her not forgetting that it was their wedding night? This marriage is not real and she wasn't going to let him touch even a strand of her hair.
She felt him draw her close to his body until her back was touching his chest and she shivered at how close they were. His right hand came to her throat and held her head up as his other hand circled her tummy.
"It's our wedding night. Did you forget? As newly Weds, we're supposed to be doing something right? It's normal. I wonder why Mrs. Elias Johan is running away. You have to get used to all of these," he whispered into her ears. Something about all of these was interesting to him but he doesn't know what part. Was it the part of her pulling his mask? Was it the part of her boldly challenging him even though she was scared? Was it the part of her mentioning about wedding ring and vows or was it the part of her not wanting to share a room with him? He doesn't know. Maybe he was going to find out sooner or later. How much he wanted to show her that only his rules were followed in this mansion and there was nothing she could do other than follow his rules.
"D..don't you dare touch me. Our marriage is not real," Madeline stuttered with her chest rising and falling.
"Oh, so if I give you a wedding ring and make some vows, our wedding would be real? Fine then."
"I do not want your wedding ring or your fake vows. You can keep them to yourself," she answered, as she tried to free herself from his hold but he held her tightly.
"Go to bed now, before I change my mind," Elias said as he free her from his grip and laid down on the left side of the bed.
"You better sleep and don't even think of going outside. That's if you can find the key though," he said before closing his eyes. Madeline stiffly laid down on the right side of the bed and shift till she reached the end. She closed her eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
