Z hesitated for a moment before saying, "Uhm, sorry, Cassie, my Aunt wants to talk to you. Is that okay?" Z asked for her permission.

"I don't mind." Cassie shrugged.

Ameliá stood up and turned away from the people that are listening.

"Good evening, dear. This is Jeremy's mom, Ameliá Scott. I believe your name is Cassie?" She introduced herself.

"Yes, that's right, Ma'am. I'm Kaye's eldest sister, Cassie." Cassie said politely.

"Perfect, so I want to talk to you to let Kaye stay here for the night. For a couple of reasons. She's been stumbling over everything here and I don't want her to be riding a car anymore. Her head won't be able to take the fuzziness. Besides, I really want her to stay here because none of my kids have brought any friends home since forever. I just wanted to spend a day together. I've always wanted a daughter, I'm just a helpless mother." She repeated her sob story.

She heard Cassie chuckle on the other line. "Mrs. Scott, with all due respect, you rhyming it together doesn't make it any less unconvincing."

"Oh, it didn't work? Did I rhyme too much?" Ameliá laughed. "Alright, you got me, dear." She was quite impressed that she didn't fall for her sob story when her sister actually did.

"But it's true. She's quite drunk and stumbling all over the place. I even caught them outside hugging each other 'cause kinda she lost her balance, diving into her embrace. Oh, hohoho, nevermind the last part. Nothing happened. And it's true that they never brought anyone here. Well, I really wanted a daughter, you know. I know I have Z but she's not a woman in my eyes. I'm surrounded by idiots. Her sensible and cute sister isn't here cause you know, college. So please give this old lady a favor and let your sister stay tonight. We're just gonna have lunch tomorrow and then I'll send her home right away."

'Oh my god, this woman talks a lot!' Cassie held her head at the woman's chattering.

"I'm just worried is all. I hope you understand."

"Well, if that's the case then her safety is not an issue here. I can kick my husband out and let her stay with me in my room so you can be at ease."

"Please, you don't have to do that. That's why if you wouldn't mind giving me your address, I'll pick my sister up."

"Oh, then all the better. You can come over and bring your sister some fresh clothes she can change into and uh, we can have a barbecue party tomorrow! You can stay too!" Ameliá exclaimed.

"That's an excellent idea, dear. My son will be happy to hear that."

"Uh, ma'am-" Amelia cuts her off, "Amy. Just call me Amy."

Cassie sighed, "Mrs. Scott, I never agreed to anything yet."

Cassie is now amazed by the woman's tenacity.

"Amy. Don't fret over the small things, honey. I'm expecting you here tomorrow."

"I appreciate the offer but I have to open my shop." Cassie politely declined the offer.

"That's too bad, then." Amelia thought for a second and said, "How about a couple of weeks from now? We'll be having a party and I'd love for you to come."

"I'll see what I can do, Ma'am," Cassie replied.

"I'm happy with that answer." Ameliá smiled sweetly.

"Well, it was nice speaking with you, dear. I don't want to take too much of your time tonight but I'll see you soon."

"Wait, ma'am, We've kinda sidetracked but I still haven't agreed with my sister staying over." Cassie's eyes are twitching.

"Oh, I thought you already agreed. Silly me."

Cassie chuckled and sighed. "I'm not gonna win this, am I?"

"Oh, good you understand. I wanna say, thank you for trusting me with her. Rest assured that she's safe here. Z's gonna take care of her." Ameliá said softly.

"I look forward to seeing you soon, dear. I hope you enjoy the rest of the evening." Ameliá walked back to the living room.

Cassie shook her head, "Alright, Ma'am I'm leaving my sister to you."

Cassie didn't really mind Kaye for staying out late. She was just worried about who she was with and when she learned that she was with Z, she felt relieved.

Although she doesn't know her at all, quite funny she thought she could trust a woman that gave her her personal identification to have her sister for a date. She just couldn't resist teasing Zach. This woman here just tried to spoil her fun.

"She's in good hands. —oh, see? She fell asleep on the couch, poor thing."

"I apologize for her rude behavior. Good night, Mrs. Scott."

"Ohoho, it's not something to worry about. Good night, dear."

Amelia hung up the phone and saw both Zach and Kaye as the wallpaper.

"Hmm." She raised her brows and turned off the screen.

"That must have taken a while for this poor thing to have already fallen asleep," Ameliá said and gave Kaye's phone to Zach instead.

"Tía, could I have a word with you?" Z placed the phone in her pocket and stood up.

"Of course, dear." Ameliá went towards the kitchen.

Zach followed her to the kitchen and found herself a stool and sat down.

"What's going on? Why are you being so stubborn in having her here?"

"Why, I thought I'm doing you a favor. Moreover, she seemed to be tired so I let her stay instead."

Ameliá waved her hand, "Never mind the trivial things. Let her sleep in your room-"

"Tía!" Z said in disbelief.

"Kyler, let me finish, alright?" Ameliá raised her hand to stop Z from reacting.

"Let her sleep in your room and you take the guest room or crash in Jeremy's, whatever works for you, dear. I'm not sure of the state of that room but your room is always clean." Ameliá said slowly.

"You can even stay on the couch if you'd prefer." Ameliá chuckled.

Z just sighed, "Alright, alright, I get it. You get some rest now, tía. I feel really drained out today. I'll take care of myself."

She slowly pushed Ameliá from the back, navigating to their room where Ethan is waiting.

She opened the door for her.

"Goodnight, tía, uncle." She kissed the woman goodnight and closed the door.

She went back to her room to fix it ready for occupancy. She went back to the living room and sighed once more. "What a long day."
