"I heard that you were distracted during training today", Hyuin told his son
Though in the peak of his elderly days, Hyuin is characterised by a very sonorous and vibrant appearance. He has the motivating look of a stentorian typhoon who worked smartly for his assets and yielded loads of profit. Portions of his face are dressed in several freckles and very faint wrinkles. Short and straight stands of hait protruding from his scalp have a metallic silver hue than white or grey . It's safe to think that those were signs of aging but he has been like this for a very long time , two hundred years to be precise. Hyuin Veor is the prime minister of the vampires of Cloakstone.
He has been in this position for more than five hundred years and still looking agile. His status has awarded him a lot of benefits and many travelling perks which is how he met his tenth wife, Ema . Moreover he became an aesthetic collector and for this reason his office as is his house, is saturated with some of his timeless treasures.
The office in question is as expected of a large mansion that has stood ground for more than twelve hundred years. The ancient walls and musty decaying of the wood plus the cement stone walls give the space a palpably vintage scenery with an antediluvian air. Some of the wood panels that hold the roof have noticeable as well as ignorable cracks to them but that is all due to the erosion of the mahagony which apperad to have been soaked in a burnt sienna coat mimicking a finish similar to charcoal smeered on white linon.
As for the anachronous large cement pillar surrounding this place, they took their architectural design from a royal kingdom appearance or a religious palace. They are staged all over the house but fewer in rooms that don't have another floor above them like this office. These cylinders have an array of hues but the original owner of the house had them designed using dark tones , so as of now the effects of time and the environmental colours give the blood red coat of the pillars a dark glistening merronish spatter that has a very dim or low saturation and contrast. Though this was unintentional, the colours blend perfectly with the condition and aura of the entire house.
Furthemore some of the pillars like the walls, have inbuilt lantern cages that have a diverse range of structures. The lantern don't use candles but kerosene. The interior of the lantern which isn't supposed to light, is made with some non- flammable material . The paint of the lantern cages and the pillars is also infused with a similar non-flammable material as a diluting component in place of thinner or paint dilutant.
For this office , there are three walls and the pillars are only at the entry into the office. The office itself is not closed from the rest of the house but there is a screen-door made of shifting frame ebony wood that opens the same was like a sliding door . The design is an adaptation of ancient shoji curtains with a futuristic twist of making everything wood and no paper. Any design added to sophisticate the screen-door has been meticulously carved on the wood. Different lines and patterns are always used but the overall design is always collected in a geometrical shape like this screen door has its overlapping lines enclosed in a circle
Anyway upon entering the office, the space welcomes one with a large setup of black leather sofas in the middle of the room . The chairs are placed parallel to each other , with a long low laying plain- craft glass table at the center. Such a piece rests on yet a remote custom craft carpet that accentuates the curves of the tables by itself being a neural colour that almost blends with the semi-black emerald green floors , while being finished with the soily colours of the ceiling. A medium sized book rests on the table next to a platter hosting cream-white donut-like-ceramic balls.
Leaving the setup , ahead there is yet another wooden sliding door. This one is a lot larger and a lot more dense as it shields the office from the outside which is the back part of the mansion that houses a cherry blossoms plantation.
Back inside the room, still at the entry sliding door, to the right side is the main section. This location contains the humongous, charred wood table and a larger dark brown leather chair. On the desk are some papers and stationery to aid in the task of filing the documents. Every text is foreseen manually but that is not too strenuous as only serious matters are brought to the prime minister and those are tremendously few. So, most of he time it is just declarations and major concerns of the government not the public. The government is the one that listens to the public , then filters and compresses those concerns before forwarding them to the office of the prime minister until eventually they reach Hyuin.
Anyway behind the desk setup is a large abstract portrait that was painted before even Hyuin's fore fathers were born. The portrait is just the outline of female but it shows all states in this region . Cloakstone is a large province so it covers a significant portion of the lady , being her left part of the abdomen all the way to her ankle still on the same side.
To the side of the desk is a fireplace and atop the fireplace, there are some ornaments and sculptures of common things like a vase, a peacock, and some swan feathers. And, these glass pieces are crafted to resemble the real stuff abstractly of course. After the fireplace there is a magestc bird of paradise in a barrel-like container that is clearly ceramic. Hyuin's office has two opposite each other and on the corners of the rooms. The plants looks very well kept and is flourishing with unsullied green. The same goes for all the plants in this place. Every single one of the eighteen rooms in this vast conjoined double storey has some type of plant. All of them are pristined and exuding plumes of fresh just like the magnificent cherry blossoms on the backyard .
Daimir was standing in front of his father s table as he was staring outside.
The young prince is the opposite of his father. He is a lot more talkative , lot more social and much more of a reckless and thoughtless risk-taker. All his traits are untraceable because his mother was a sweet secretary that was very reserved and didn't trouble anyone, which is part of the reason that Hyuin fell for her. She had excellent manners and a respectable presence but Daimir failed to adopt those . His mother seemed to be a lotus creation but unfortunately the notorious vampire curse got to her.
A vampire is blessed with immortality and can live up to as long as a thousand years or more. Their DNA and genes permit this as their cells keep regenerating without causing any mutation, thereby keeping them alive longer and continuously replacing those that have reached their span. For example their cell can live for 300 days and a new one by them is already working, meaning that a lot of the time , two of the same duplicate cell in a tissue would be doing the same thing. If vision is allowed by twelve cells, a vampire has twenty four and in really unique but not so rare cases especially in the first eighteen decades years of life, a vampire has three cells. One that is dying, one that is going to replace the dying one and one that is learning so that it can replace the one that will replace the one that's dying. Meaning a vampire can have three times the normal seeing ability.
However a strange phenomena called the vampire curse affects vampires a lot as it not only halves their lifespan but can even kill a vampire with fifteen years of life. The vampire curse does not pick as it is just another way of saying death. However some groups and types of vampires seem more susceptible to the dark claws of this curse.
