As soon as the waiter served the two glasses of beer in front of them, Oh Ji-Soo picked up one and brought the rim to her lips and downed the whole thing within a twinkle of an eye.
Watching her throat gobble down the drink with a disgusted expression on her face, Baek Su-Jin leaned a little bit away from her.
"I thought you didn't like beer?"
Oh Ji-Soo waited till she was done before putting down the empty mug. "This is called a drink-after-confession."
"No one is forcing you to drink it. This isn't truth or dare." Su-Jin reminded as she reached out to pick up the remaining glass of beer on the table.
"I know." Picking up the wine bottle in front of her, Ji-Soo proceeded to peel off the seal and uncork it.
"I'm just trying to wash away all my bitter experiences at Dream Axis because OF Kim Ji-hun along with the bitter beer, and then…"
While pouring some of the content of the red wine into her wine glass, a small smile finally bloomed on her face.
"Welcome goodness and happiness in my life while enjoying this bottle of sweet wine."
Oh Ji-Soo has never been a fan of beer. In fact, her favourite drink was wine.
Even while doing a little work at home which she rarely does as she didn't like to take unfinished work back home hence the reason she works overtime, a glass of wine must at least accompany her.
That was how much she liked and relied on wine. It calmed her nerves.
Drinking a bit from her glass of beer, Baek Su-Jin put it down as her brows furrowed slightly.
"Come to think of it, why do I feel that Kim Ji-hun is trying to get revenge on you for what you did to him in high school?"
Hearing that, a soft chuckle escaped from Ji-Soo's lips.
"At first, I didn't think he would be that petty, but given his abuse at work, I can't help but link his action to that incident."
"Maybe you should have apologized to him." Baek Su-Jin advised, feeling it was the right thing to do back then.
"No way!"
Bringing her wine glass down just as the content was about to touch the tip of her tongue, Oh Ji-Soo almost rolled her eyes.
She was in total disagreement with her.
"I didn't do anything wrong. He got what he deserved."
"Still, embarrassing him in front of the whole class plus throwing a basketball to his face was a little too much back then."
Being reminded of their high school days, especially what happened back then between her friend, Ji-Soo and one of their classmates, Su-Jin couldn't stop herself from laughing.
It was a funny incident.
Imagine coming into the basketball practice room during sports period, picking up the ball and using it to smack the side face of one of the most popular male students in school.
That was exactly what Oh Ji-Soo did.
She single-handedly ended the basketball practice as everyone came to a complete standstill when that happened.
They were all shocked beyond measure and by the time they had recovered from it, she had already left but then, Kim Ji-hun had to be taken to the school clinic.
The force which Oh Ji-Soo had used to throw the ball, was capable of dislocating his jaw but thankfully, it didn't get to that extent.
The worst that happened, was Kim Ji-hun skipping a few days of school till the swollen half of his face had disappeared completely.
"At least he learned a lesson both then and now. Never mess with Oh Ji-Soo."
Bringing the rims of her wine glass to her lips, she pushed her head backwards to drink from it as her lashes fluttered close.
Seeing not a single shred of remorse on her, Baek Su-jin shook her head and equally picked up her glass of beer.
"I don't think he would ever want to mess with a woman like you again, even by mistake."
During their high school days, especially their final year, Oh Ji-Soo, Kim Ji-hun, Baek Su-Jin and Kang Dae-Jung were in the same class.
Back then, Ji-Soo and Ji-hun were competitors as they were both very intelligent.
Their smartness was on par with each other, but at the end of the day, one of them had to take the first position and the other, the second position.
This often caused issues for them.
Being tops in their respective classes before they were joined in the same class during their final year in high school, they didn't know much about each other's academic points.
At the end of the first term when their results came out, Kim Ji-hun topped the class and right there, Oh Ji-Soo blacklisted him.
As she was attending such a prestigious school based on the scholarship she merited, she saw Kim Ji-hun as a competitor and had to sit up.
During the second term, Oh Ji-Soo came 1st. Seeing as her hard work had paid off, she snubbed Kim Ji-hun more.
Feeling offended by her attitude towards him, Kim Ji-hun decided to play a little prank on her by placing chewing gum on her chair before running off during the sports break.
Oh Ji-Soo who had gone to report to their homeroom teacher, came back and sat on her desk without looking, but immediately she noticed what was wrong she roared in anger.
"Who was it that put gum on my seat?!"
Being the class monitor with quite a temper, about 2 classmates immediately spilt the name of the culprit as they had seen him doing the work.
Hearing that the handwork was Kim Ji-hun's doing, she slammed her palms on her desk and cursed.
"Kim Ji-hun, you are finished just wait!"
Just as she had promised, Oh Ji-Soo made sure to get back at him which resulted in the end point of him skipping school for a few days to recover.
Since that day, Kim Ji-hun stopped speaking to her and as everyone left high school, they parted ways and only met again at Dream Axis.
