With President Kim not in their line of sight, they started to gossip while leaving in groups.
"I like how Director Oh went up against President Kim. It's not every time we get to see a scene like this." A manager in a sweatshirt and jean trousers whispered with a triumphant smile on his face.
"Actually, this will be the first and last time something like this ever happens." A woman with a chubby figure spoke and got supported by the colleague beside her.
"You are right. Didn't you all see President Kim's murderous gaze? If Vice-President Jang hadn't stopped him, he really would have gone to settle scores with Director Oh."
Suddenly one of them walking ahead stopped and turned around. "But did Director Oh actually quit?"
He still seemed to find the scene that played out in front of them to be a dream.
"Didn't you see her slamming her resignation letter on the desk? This makes me wonder when she had it prepared." The chubby woman in framed glasses retorted.
The project manager looked to be in contemplation as he added, "I'm curious as well. She made it look like she has been waiting for a day like this."
Wasn't it only yesterday that they had all gathered to talk about the J-Group project and put heads together to create the proposal?
When did she have the time to write her resignation letter, or did she have it prepared since?
"Without Director Oh here to shield us, we are all going to suffer greatly when we receive President Kim's scolding directly." Another female manager said with much regret evident in her tone.
Glancing at the Project Manager, she added, "Manager Shin, I think you should get ready."
Saying that she continued in her steps, leaving the Project Manager and the others stunned.
Oh Ji-Soo had been the one dealing with their big boss directly which meant that they didn't have to get scolded directly.
Their Senior Manager who directly who reports to him was usually the one received his transfer of aggression. But now that she had resigned, they were doomed.

After everyone dispersed from the room, Kim Chae-Yeon and Jang Deok-Hwa also left for a restaurant to have lunch together.
Her son was an adult that didn't need chasing after and besides, she had something more important to attend to.
Immediately after placing their food and drink order, she leaned in towards the table and asked the man sitting across from her with a curious gaze.
"Deok-Hwa, who is that Director Oh?"
Feeling surprised by the sudden interest, Jang Deok-Hwa raised a curious brow. "Why are you suddenly concerned about Dream Axis employees?"
"Did you see her attitude in the meeting room? I was shocked by her courage to stand up against that son of mine."
Saying that she picked up the glass of water in front of her and brought it to her lips to have a drink.
Watching her, he replied, "There is no need to get curious about Director Oh, she has resigned."
"Too bad. I wanted to work with her to tame Ji-hun's pride and temper." Shaking her head, she clasped her fingers together.
"She would have done a good job, maybe. Unfortunately, it's too late."
Jang Deok-Hwa agreed with her on this, but it was too bad that Oh Ji-Soo no longer worked at Dream Axis.
Changing the topic of their conversation, he asked, "You wanted to see me?"
"Ah, yes!" Being reminded of the reason she wanted to see him before she got distracted by the woman that dared to challenge her son, she quickly adjusted her sitting position.
"When is Ma-Ri's flight?"
"Her flight is scheduled in the morning. By evening, she should have touched down at the airport." Jang Deok-Hwa replied.
"That's great!" Slapping her hands together with excitement brimming in her eyes, she went further to arrange a meeting.
"I can't wait to see her, it's been so long already."
"It's only been 3 years," he corrected.
"Still, that's a long time." Letting out a sigh of relief, Kim Chae-Yeon added, "Our family should meet the evening after Ma-Ri arrives. It's time to talk about her and Ji-hun's marriage."
Hearing that, Jang Deok-Hwa stopped for a moment. "Do you think Ji-hun will agree to this now?"
Given his temper and what happened earlier at the company, he thought the young man would need more time to actually face a different thing altogether, but his mother thought differently.
"He has no right to refuse me. We have talked about this before and I fulfilled my own side of the bargain by giving him time to build a solid foundation at the company. Now, it's time for marriage talks."
Just then the waiter arrived with their food and as soon as they left after serving it, Kim Chae-Yeon continued from where she left off.
"Ji-hun can't refuse, there is no reason to. He is already in his 30s, he is mature enough plus he has everything to start a family of his own."
A long sigh escaped Jang Deok-Hwa's lips as he sank into deep contemplation.
The matter of marriage was not a casual talk. It was something that needed careful consideration, but Kim Chae-Yeon did not give her that much time.
Seeing him lost in thought, she asked, "What is there to think about again after all this while? It's not like Ji-hun and Ma-Ri don't know each other."
Leaning towards the table, she lowered her voice. "They even dated before." Leaning away after making her message clear, she picked up her cutlery.
"There is nothing to worry about. You should relax."
Knowing how determined the woman was about their children getting together again, and this time around, for a lifetime union, Jang Deok-Hwa conceded in defeat.
"If you can take care of Ji-hun everything else will be fine by me. It's just that, I wouldn't want things to look forced."
Picking up his cutlery to start eating, he described Kim Ji-hun's personality.
"Ji-hun doesn't like to be pushed to do something, not of his will. The more you force him, the more he avoids it."
