Kiro's Point Of View:
I breathed a sigh of relief when I read Jordan's text that the Buenaventuras were going today, it was too early that's why I had to go in earlier. They said it was Friday but they changed their minds. The Buenaventuras are the owners of the school and they also own the hospitals here in our area. They're the boss that everyone is afraid of because they are powerful.
Up until now I still can't forget what happened last night. I can't even imagine Athena punching men, she's the only woman I've seen who knows how to use surujin and fail and she's also the only woman I've seen who knows hand to hand combat. Until now, Austin and I are still talking about him and even they can't believe what I tell them. There are so many questions in my mind that I almost go crazy thinking why there are such people.
I wear my uniform and my haskel eyeglasses, I look like a nerd but I like these eyeglasses. I took a deep breath and adjusted my lip ring and immediately took the elevator down. I got into my BMW and quickly went to school and I don't know why I was nervous and I felt like something bad was going to happen. Ever since Athena arrived, my brain has become chaotic and my mind has also become chaotic.
I smoothly parked my car beside Athena's motorcycle. I looked at her motorcycle and shook my head because I have to admit that I'm still not used to seeing a woman riding a motorcycle. I walked quickly and was stunned to see Stephanie in the corridor.
"Hi babe!" Stephanie in a loud voice kissed my cheek. "What took you so long?"
"Why are you here? You're supposed to be in the college building," I said and walked ahead because many people were looking at us again.
She sighed and told me that she wanted to see me so I winced. As much as possible I don't want to see Stephanie because I just remembered what mommy told me that she is the girl who will be my wife. I know mommy's behavior and when she wants I have to obey. We went to the gymnasium and saw that there were many students so I looked for my friends.
"Kiro!" I looked to the side near the stage and saw Austin.
I quickly went there with Stephanie. They looked at me curiously so I winced because they had something else in mind because they knew what happened last night. They think that I saved Athena and that we are okay, I will never be okay if that girl is still here.
"Who's Athena?" asked Stephanie. "One of your girls?"
"What?" I asked loudly so they all gasped. "I mean, yuck. She's not my girl and she's not my...standard."
I saw Austin smirking while the three nodded as if they didn't believe me. I frowned because I was thinking again of Athena's chubby cheeks, her eyes, and her lips. I irritably brushed my hair and saw Austin laugh.
"That's okay, dude. It's fine with us if you deny it because even if you don't say it we know you're Athena type," he said in a low voice and giggled in my ear.
They keep on insisting that I like that girl which is not on my vocabulary. She's ugly and I don't want to be good with her, every time I see her face especially when she smiles my heart that should be calm does not become calm. What's wrong with me?
"Good morning, students." We looked at grandfather. "I know we didn't expect this day but we received that today the Buenaventuras will come and we will expect you all to be clean, orderly, and quiet, especially our entire school. I want all of you to greet them and to behave because these people are no joke and you probably know who and what they are among us."
We nodded together and soon the Buenaventuras were there. The one in front is Mr. Buenaventura with the Chairman and his wife on its side, behind him are the three men Buenaventura with the daddy of Mrs. Buenaventura who always wears shades. We are all looking at them and I must admit that my body hair rises when I see them, especially their Chairman.
"The Buenaventura's!" grandfather in a happy voice. "Good morning."
They just nodded and went to their seats. I swallowed because maybe later grandpa will call me and I will be the one to talk to the Buenaventuras. They all sat down and looked at the entire gymnasium as if they were looking for someone, especially the Chairman who looked straight ahead and only his eyes were moving.
"We're glad that you visited us here. We didn't expect that you're coming here this early and we didn't expect that you're completed," said grandfather and smiled. "Anyways I would like to take this opportunity if ever you agreed to my—"
Lolo didn't finish what he was going to say when the Buenaventuras suddenly stood up at the same time. We all stopped and looked at what they were looking at, Athena who was just entering the gymnasium and just like when I first saw her, she was wearing a white beanie and her gaze was straight. I was even more surprised when the three Buenaventura men stood up one by one and you could see on their faces the shock, nervousness, and fear that I couldn't understand why.
"What the fuck is happening?" Matthias asked.
I saw how the guards wearing shades and earpieces bowed one by one. Everything became quiet especially when Athena looked up and I saw how she was stunned and from here in my seat I could see the anger, sadness, and regret but her face was still blank.
"Athena!" The second of the Buenaventuras quickly ran to Athena who was just standing in the middle.
What the F What's going on I looked at them in wonder and I must admit that my mind became even more confused. I looked ahead and saw that they were all standing and looking at Athena who looked at them coldly. I was swallowed when Archer hugged Athena with no reaction on her face. We all looked at Rina who suddenly bowed as the Buenaventuras approached and it was as if they had a reunion.
"I told you that that woman is really mysterious," said Jordan.
"Don't say that he is the son of Mr. Buenaventura," Matthias said, still shocked.
We gasped when Athena bowed and remained like that until the Chairman said nothing. I got down and went to grandpa who was on the side smiling so I looked at him in wonder.
"If you ask me what's going on, you'll know." I was surprised at that and immediately looked at me. "She's the long lost Buenaventura."
I was surprised to see him and Athena who was now looking at me, why was she looking at me? What have I done to him? Buenaventura's but mommy told me that Mr. Buenaventura is outside and it's probably Athena!
"What happened to you?" I heard Alfred, the first Buenaventura.
I looked at Athena and I could feel the emotion she was suppressing. I could feel the anger in his eyes but I saw more sadness there. Because of the curiosity I have, I quickly followed them with grandfather who was now calm. He didn't expect this either and it looks like grandpa knew it was going to happen.
"Leave me alone." I was stunned when Athena spoke. Even Rina was surprised by his strong voice and I could feel his anger. "Don't expect me to be happy now that I saw all of you. You will never find me for almost a year."
"That's not true!" Archer said in a low voice. "We...are looking for you."
He said those words in a language I did not understand. I swallowed when the Chairman suddenly spoke in another language and they all fell silent and immediately walked away. I was holding my head when it suddenly throbbed, I was too curious about them and my head also hurt. I always feel this way every time I see Athena's face. I don't know why and what it is.
