"How could you not let us, her family, go in and meet her? Did you forget who had appointed you at the job? You will be stripped of your position and will be punished for your disrespect towards us!" threatened Jane with a dark face.
Her eyes were red and fierce with anger as she glared at the maids who were trembling with fear but still did not give up in front of her. Althea, who had just entered her room through the window, stumbled upon this scene and sighed.
She had thought they had learnt their lesson after what happened last time but a few fools never learn.
"Ha! You.. let me call mother and then she will deal with you." she glared at them again and turned to leave when Thea opened the door from inside.
She was wearing a soft silky night dress and her tender skin was pink. She looks beautiful.
Her look further angered jane.
"What takes you so long to open the door? I have been asking for you for half an hour!" she complained as her feet tapped the ground with a look of impatience on her face.
"And before that.. Your maids were misbehaving with me. Punish them." she commanded with a look of authority on her face that brought an amused look on the face.
"Do you need me for something?" she asked, cutting her long lecture in between, surprising her once again when the girl frowned.
"Yes, i have brought a few new dresses from the boutique, i want you to alter them according to my size and embroider a handkerchief with red roses, i want to give it to a special one in the winter ball." In spite of being interrupted badly, her arrogance did not fade away as she ordered Althea with a haughty look when she raised a brow.
"What kind of a lousy boutique did you go to that did not even alter the dresses according to your size?" she asked with a look of disdain as she stared at the clothes of jane. Jane had only one weak point, she was a bit fat and did not like her sister or Althea who had perfect figures.
"Or they did not make the dresses of your size but you still insisted on buying them because Jenny brought them from there?" the sore point was touched! Her face instantly turned black when she heard it and glared at her with the desire to kill.
"Jane! You should not try to fit in clothes that do not suit you. And I am saying this as your well wisher or else Jenny would keep laughing at you. She did not take you with her again, right?" She wrapped her hands around Jane's shoulders and shook her head as if she was feeling pity for the girl.
Jane bit her lips as her chest started to heave with anger.
"You know I was reading a book about magic and I read a strange magic in it. It can help you in getting the figure you want if you eat some particular diet and meditate for a magic spell and drink a potion after it.
If you want, I can give that to you." she offered with a smile when Jane blinked.
It would be a lie if she says that she was not tempted but it was Althea..
"Ha.. magic spell and you! Everyone knows you do not have an affinity to magic, you cough blood whenever you try to use magic spells and the spell does not even work." she scoffed and then looked at her with a strict look, "do not make any more excuses and come and work for me."
"Why will i?" Thea folded hands in front of her chest and stared at her with a cold look on her face that stunned jane.
"Because I am saying so!" she repeated with a glare when Thea chuckled as if she had heard a joke.
"Sorry, sister! I have stopped doing charity. If you need help, ask maids or learn to do it yourself and.. You can do spells right? Why don't you try them?" she mocked as she turned back to her room.
"But if you want that spell and diet, then come and meet me later. Right now, I need to sleep again." she waved her hands as if she was shooing them and closed the door on her face.
Jane blinked, still stunned that Thea dared to behave like that. Her fingers already had sparks of current leaking.
Though her mother was a weak magician, the duke was one of the strongest mages in the empire, so both Jane and Jenny were stronger in magic too.
She gritted her teeth and closed her eyes as she whispered the spell.
The maids standing at the door cowered with fear and tried to hide themselves.
Althea who had just closed the door felt a strong gale and paused.
She knew this strong feeling. She had felt it when those men helped her in healing her.
"That damn fool!" but instead of feeling fear, her eyes sparkled with joy.
She used her power to shorten the space and reached the balcony and covered herself with the door when her room shook and exploded, breaking a lot of things.
Once it ended, she took out some makeup and started making bruises on her face.
Jane smirked when she entered the room and saw the marks on the faces of Thea.
"So, are you still going to refuse me? Hmmm?" she asked with a smirk when Althea cowered with tears in her eyes.
"Sister, I thought you were not going to beat me anymore. I.. i.." she started crying confusing Jane who had never beaten Thea before but before she could think further,
"Beep beep beep!" a red alert sign started to buzz in a loud voice shaking the whole room.
