3rd Person POV
The king was enraged, and he then shot a spell himself, then used his ring to shoot out a powerful withering spell that he keeps in case of emergencies, before charging in, Perseus swatted the spell away, and it hit Reiner's wife, the king's initial spell activated all of her protective enchanted equipment.
It saved her, but the specters made sure that her destiny was different and siphoned her life away from the outside, unlike the heroes, she couldn't resist it for long before her life faded away.
Perseus fought the heroes, but his movement started to slow down. He then release a spell of intense scorching flames.
Having witnessed the unforeseen fate of Reiner, Perseus took a decisive step back. Without a word or glance spared for the bewildered assembly, he and the 2 specters swiftly backed away from the scene.
Running towards the gaping hole in the breached wall, the 3 propelled themselves into the outside world. They leaped through the shattered remnants of the castle defenses, disappearing into the unknown beyond.
The heroes and the Tartian royals, still reeling from the inexplicable events that transpired, could only watch in stunned silence as Perseus vanished from sight. The departure left a stunned silence.
Surrounded by the drifting remnants of crimson dust and petals suspended in the air, the assembly found themselves immobilized, wrestling with the bewildering sequence of events. The abrupt intrusion, swift departure, and the inexplicable fate that befell their comrades left them speechless, their gazes fixed on the scene before them, rendered silent by the shock and loss.
Perseus POV
Success, I already had Reiner and Goldie moved the wife and kids last night, even the Reiner here was fake, the wife who cried over his dead body was nothing more than a fake clone. The quivering and panic in my voice were so perfect as well.
I had no plan of sparing him. Edward and Reiner will have to understand, and they did, their expressions were not very optimistic. Reiner's clone body should last for a very long time, but the fire I set earlier should turn it to dust while they put it out, which is still hard, because I mixed an actual spell with my illusion spell, to make the 'flame' last longer.
I teleported the specters back to Grandpa and let him imprison them again so that they couldn't just go around causing chaos. Those specters don't really listen to orders, compared to the scarecrows, but that helped make the acting earlier better, of course don't go for halflings, but that can be a weakness, as the halflings that are from other places would be spared as well, unlike the scarecrows who can differentiate the stronger one, that is us.
Calling my own people superior all this time seems kinda racist...and yes, I just realized that. But at least we have a slight weakness, that is the lower fertility, to limit our numbers.
I got back to the bunker and I could see Edward welcoming his in-laws with Vince and Goldie as both their guide and guard. Reiner and Rowan are going to leave right after this, apparently, he has a secret base of his own, he didn't call any of his more loyal friends to help out either.
Reiner plans on infiltrating and eliminating some of the more demon extremists, which is good for me since I want the world to still cooperate after all of this is over. I left Mark to do the conversion of human extremists as he already left the heroes' party.
Terrence also left, he's helping Mark, while also trying to get himself ready to inherit the mantle of the winter god.

I got home and then again, I had to prepare myself to leave, this time, it was the yellow rose, the ability to control animals and other beasts are quite scary, especially since the yellow rose already managed to gather back some of the krakens that I helped hide away all those time back.
The potential of controlling beasts, especially ones with intelligence, is incredibly dangerous. Creatures that can think and act on their own, under someone else's command, pose a huge threat. It's like having an army that doesn't just follow orders but thinks and strategizes on its own. That kind of power in the wrong hands could turn the whole war upside down.
That's why it's crucial to stop anyone from harnessing that ability.
If the Yellow Rose gets a hold of those beasts in the forest, it's a disaster waiting to happen. The village will be in chaos, and who knows what those creatures could do under their control. It's like handing over the keys to a kingdom to someone who might burn it all down.
I think it's better if someone close to us, someone who can handle that power responsibly possesses it instead. At least then, we have a bit more control over how it's used. But in the wrong hands, it's a ticking time bomb, just waiting to explode and make everything worse...but if it's on our side...I'll turn this whole thing in one go.
"Vince, got some time?"
"Why?" he asked
"You want an absolutely overpowered ability?"
"Like what?"
"Controlling dangerous beasts, though think about it, you haven't killed, and if you choose to accept this...well, I'm giving you a choice."
"I don't...I don't think that I'm ready to kill just yet, sorry."
"Tanner's lover it is then."
"Uh...aren't you scared that they'll betray you?"
"Not if I make a deal with them."
"What kind of deal?"
"After we win, the demon continent will need a new leader, and with Lilith stepping down as a goddess, they all need a replacement, and I already got 2 candidates in mind, Roxa and Bridget. Bridget can become the demon lord after the war, and we'll let Roxa and Violet inherit the goddess role, or co-goddess."
"Yeah, that doesn't stop them from having thoughts of betrayal after we jailed them."
"Oh, they won't be betraying me, trust me, I'll make sure that we will have a long era of peace after this."
