Chapter 1 - Chapter-1 | Bloodline what?...

[Bloodline Synthesize System activated...]

[Bloodline Synthesize System]

[Current Target: Adrien Xilos]

[Target Bloodline: Base Adept Human]

[Synthesize]

...

Adrien looked in front of him in a daze, before finally letting out a cheerful yelp. He had a system, and it looked quite powerful at that!

After transmigration into this strange yet mystical world, Adrien had many false impressions at first, but as time passed, he came to know everything about it.

For starters, he thanked god that he was born into an influential family and had knowledge readily available to him about this world.

On his first day, his great aunt, who was a Grade-3 Adept as well, looked at him and discovered everything about him being a transmigrator as well as his memories from his past life. Though, as he had imagined, nothing like dissecting him or something like that ever happened.

His aunt even told him that he reincarnated into this world and did not take over the body of a youngster named Adrien. Instead, he learned that his memories of his past life were unlocked a bit later. But she also warned him that taking over someone's body was to be done with care.

But after that incident, he never saw that so-called aunt again. But he knew that she was a grade-3 adept, and the number of them numbered in double digits on the whole planet.

According to the books in his family library, adepts are somewhat similar to wizards.

Adrien looked at the panel in front of him. He realized that even if he didn't have any talent in any given field, he could forge his way with this Bloodline Synthesizing System.

As for living a luxurious life without doing anything, no such thing exists. Moreover, for someone to truly be considered a true family member, one must at least be an apprentice. If not, then he would have to marry and procreate until a worthy descendant is born. Living a life of a pig, or so they were threatened when they slacked off.

This was not him finding a wife but him working like a rat. For that matter, he himself had thirty-two brothers and sisters.

Tomorrow will be the day when the descendants of the Xilos clan will be tested for their talents. If he had any talent, he would be sent to one of the family's Adept Towers.

Looking back at the panel, Adrien clicked the [Synthesize] option. In any case, he would not synthesize it right now, and he was looking at the process.

When Adrien clicked on [Synthesize], another panel opened up to notify him of something.

...

[Please choose a suitable element: ]

[________]

...

Inside the list of chooseable elements, there were hundreds of different elements. Hell, there were even combinations of elements like corpse fire or something like that. It was so complex that he could not even imagine in his wildest dreams how it could happen.

The next set of questions appeared after choosing a random element.

...

[Note: Limit is grade-1 until target reaches limit grade and modifies it.]

[Please draw out a bloodline lifeform. Three abilities will be drawn out as outlined.]

...

A blank canvas opened up leaving Adrien to his own devices. For he could create anything he desired, but it would also define what abilities he would gain as a result.

Every powerful lifeform has a set of abilities. Even if the lifeform were grade 1, it would at least have some abilities.

Adrien had previously selected the element of Infernal-Wood so he thought some deviant wood-type monster would suit the theme well. And so he imagined and stroked around the canvas with his fingers. A tree-like humanoid monster completely black in colour with thick elastic roots in place of muscles emerged, hideous yet powerful.

When he decided to submit, three abilities were shown. If he were to synthesize this tree like a monster's bloodline, he would gain these abilities too.

...

[Elsian Transformation]

[Transform into mighty Elysian and convert nature into an infernal domain as an ally.]

[Note: The extent of abilities is to be assessed individually]

...

[Elsian Recovery]

[Recovery in the less preferable environment is three times faster, while in the preferable environment recovery is ten times higher.]

[Note: The extent of abilities is to be assessed individually]

...

[Elsian Root Slave]

[Convert flora and fauna into demoted Elsians and have command over them.]

[Note: The extent of abilities is to be assessed individually]

...

"Looks like I made an adult Groot..." Adrien laughed in depreciation.

While the monster was completely different from the so-called Groot character, it still looked like a somewhat sinister adult version of it.

The Elysian Root Slave alone made Adrien gulp hard. Imagine an army of such things with super recovery and melee fighting abilities. Just thinking about such a thing made Adrien feel a tingle in his spine.

Canceling everything that panel showed, Adrien finally looked ready for whatever the world might throw at him tomorrow.

The moment Adrien was finally getting ready to sleep was when he heard someone knocking on his door. At the door was his cousin Fayle.

For all children six to twelve, there was a dedicated place to sleep. All the children would be trained physically and mentally to increase whatever slight chances they might have. Still, if one looked at the statistics, one would find that finding talent was one in a thousand at least.

There were at least seven to eight hundred children approximately at this time taking part this year in talent testing. These children turned twelve this year, and so did Adrien.

"Hey, Adrien!" Fayle greeted.

With his hands held behind him, donning a black shirt and shorts with Xilos Family insignia stood the young boy. Blonde hair and green eyes are common in the Xilos family. Even Adrien had emerald green eyes, though his hair color was blue, a bit darker.

"Are you nervous about tomorrow?" Adrien asked something which was obvious if you saw Fayle's behavior.

"Of course! I know the family will take care of us and even give us prestigious positions in the kingdom under the family but I really want to see what becoming an apprentice feels like!" Fayle said with his toothy grin.

Though they were trained since they were six, by the time they were twelve, their immaturity was still evident. As children, they were brainwashed into contributing to the family, but if asked what they wanted to do, they would reply, "I want to contribute to my family." While heartwarming from a child's perspective, it was dreadful for someone like Adrien.

Although Fayle had somewhat the same mindset, Adrien's company did influence this child, different from the mass belief of family propaganda.

"You remember what we read in the library, right? One can bring one servant with them if they want..." Fayle asked, remembering correctly.

'Yep, only if they have a talent of at least three. You don't want to serve me, do you?" Adrien asked with furrowed brows.

"If possible Adrien, I really do want to see the world of Adepts. I don't know if that would be possible without me having any talent." Fayle said in a somewhat bitter tone.

"Don't worry Fayle, I will definitely take you with me if it's possible. Don't worry, you might even have better talent than me!" Adrien tried to raise Fayle's morale.

"Thanks, Adrien, best of luck tomorrow!" Fayne took advantage of that and returned to his room leaving Adrien alone.
