"The root of the problem?" King Mertl wondered what it meant.
"What the first Princess means is that there are—" Queen Eriela said but she was cut off when the King gestured his hand for her to stop talking.
"What is the root of the problem, Princess?"
Princess Yanarym turned her head to the Queen and redirected her attention to the King.
"I am broke," Princess Yanarym said.
King Mertl blinked his eyes, and the entire dining hall became silent. Almost the sound of the cricket and even the cling and clangs of the cutlery were heard. It went completely silent in the following minutes.
"Pardon?"
"I'm broke, Your Majesty. I'm penniless. That's my problem."
Queen Eriela slowly shifted her eyes to the first Princess; she was expecting a dramatic revelation about how she treated Princess Yanarym worst during all this time. She did not expect that that were the only words she had stated to the King.
