The very first recollection that Fin had after waking up.
It was the loud wails of other infants. It was the first noise Fin heard. When he opened his eyes what he saw was a dark wet cave. It was the first sight Fin saw.
The first physical sensation he experienced as a human being was a sharp pang of hunger, which caused him to cry out in desperation, hoping that someone would hear him and provide assistance.
It was the first instinct that he felt, and it became an immediate priority for survival.
That powerful feeling of hunger compelled Fin and the other infants to consume whatever tole to them, including dirt, insects, and leaves. They ate anything that could be swallowed to satisfy their urgent need for sustenance.
It did not take a day, and Fin found himself able to think and walk.
