Lyle nodded at Nicholas's words, fully agreeing with him. There were many factions present in the Moonless Night Empire, and even though Lyle's house was amongst the top clans of the Empire, with his father being a Vampire Lord, a being that stood near the pinnacle, only second to the Empress herself when it came to both strength and authority, one could never be certain that other members of the Empire wouldn't attack him.
'Your previous act was well done, they haven't suspected a single thing.' Nicholas stated as Lyle inwardly groaned a bit.
When they first came across Ezekiel and his group, Lyle and Nicholas's behaviors were mostly an act. Lyle acting high and mighty with his identity, playing the part of a scion of a powerful noble house, looking down on Ezekiel and his men was all a rouse, a play that they came up with on the fly.
