Lyle, now exposed as Shade, maintained a calm demeanor, setting the teacup down with a soft clink. The revelation hung in the air, and a tense silence settled within the room.
Inside, however, Lyle was beyond shocked.
'How in the world did he find out?!'
'Did Sied betray me, or Ikram?!'
'No, they have no reason to do so, and they have both sword an oath by the system, I refuse to believe that they have found a loophole to exploit in the system itself, at least not right now.'
"How did you find out?" Lyle asked as he calmly stared at Iodel before taking out the little poison in his body, causing his frail appearance to revert back to normal in mere moments.
A bright light could be seen outside the window as a formation was activated, creating an invisible barrier that covered an area some 400 meters around the house the two were in.
