Lyle didn't get out unscathed as even though it was an ability he had used, the mana blast was usually used to create a blast forward so that it wouldn't hurt the user, but as he was holding the hand and used the blast, it hurt him as well, of course, not as much as the skeleton.
Lyle quickly backed away and took out a bottle before placing it in his mouth. It was a healing potion, but that was merely from the outside. If one tried drinking the potion, they would be horrified to find that it was nothing but blood.
Compared to healing potions, blood worked just as well for Lyle and his servants. The more powerful a person, the more potent a healing potion had to be in order to be useful, the same went for the blood that Lyle drank.
With each realm and grade he rose, the less of an effect the blood of weaker beings would have.
