As the group stood in the middle of the clearing, no sound was heard thanks to their telepathic link. Their discussion was completely silent, only their expressions reflecting a shared determination to not fail the mission they had given themselves.
Failure was definitely not an option as they knew that only death waited if they failed. If Lyle died, all of his servants would die as well. Nicholas and his servants knew that they would fare no better either, which would also be eliminated to keep everything a secret.
The only sound present in the clearing were the cries of distant creatures and shimmering of leaves and bushes around them. Their resolve hardened as they all planned the path ahead.
"Where do we begin, what do we do?" Lyle asked as Nicholas, Harrison, and Corin all nodded at him. Nicholas spread out a map before staring at them.
"It will take us a while to get out of the forest, if we speed it up, 2 weeks, if we go nice and slow, 3 weeks."
