Empires, races, civilizations – each was just another ripple in the river of time, something the Treant could not even try to remember thanks to how long it had lived.
Nicholas clenched his fists upon imagining the Empire falling, fighting a sense of helplessness that threatened to rise within him. "You speak … as if such things have happened before."
"From my understanding, the only time such a thing occurred is when the Sovereign arrived, there has never been a time when entire civilizations fell before or after that."
