Lyle had initially believed that there would be people waiting for them at the exit, people that were employed to get rid of any potential deserters that might spill the beans and get the organization in trouble, but it turned out he was overthinking things.
The blood contract was absolute, at least in the empire where people who could nullify it were rare. The people employed by the demons were those that didn't have any backing, or if they did, their backing was nothing special and wouldn't be able to help them go against a blood contract.
The punishment for breaking the terms of the contract given was death, and there was nothing that those that were in the Bronze Knight realm or lower could do to save themselves if they were to break the contract, which meant that the demons were certain nobody would be able to give any information to others, even if they were forced to.
