"It's me," she called out before entering.
Damien had a smile on his face. He was always happy to see her. He got up from his seat and walked over to her, quick to wrap his arms around her waist. She planted a kiss on his cheek.
Looking up at him, she noticed the subtle changes in his facial features. The slight crease in his eyebrows, the eye bags forming beneath his eyes.
"Is something bothering you?" She asked without reservation.
Damien pursed his lips. He was never one who asked for help from others. But when faced with his mate, he felt compelled to share his problems with her. He wanted her input when he never wanted anyone else's.
"It's about the elder council," he sighed as he led her to the sofa to have a seat.
Ever since Damien had announced their disbandment, he's had a lot more on his plate to handle. The council not only provided him with advice, but it also brought him closer to his pack members.
