"Not yours?" Damien scoffed, "You're missing one right now, aren't you?"
Instinctively, Carmen reached for her earlobes. She had always worn those ruby earrings daily, only ever changing them up for special occasions. It was clear for all to see that she was wearing the same ruby earring on her other ear.
"He must have stolen it! He's trying to frame me!" Carmen continued to defend herself.
"Me? I'm trying to frame you?" Damien asked as he pointed at himself.
"What? No! I mean Larson! The rogue!"
When the realization hit her, the color drained from Carmen's face. She turned to look at her father, trying to mouth a plea for help. But before the Supreme Alpha could say or do anything, the sound of clapping echoed through the Great Hall.
