The rooms were next to each other, but they were not the same room. Damien quickly understood her disappointment. He pulled her into the room he had prepared for her and sat her down on the bed.
"I didn't want to push you to do anything you're not comfortable doing, so I thought it would be good for you to have your own room," he explained while holding her hands.
"That way, you don't have to feel pressured to spend time with me even if you don't want to. You'll have a space of your own."
Safira could feel her heart melting. Damien was so thoughtful and here she thought he didn't want to sleep in the same room as her. How foolish of her! She leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you for being so thoughtful," she whispered as they touched their foreheads together.
A knock on the door disrupted their conversation. Damien was a little annoyed but he knew what it was for. It was Seth, coming to inform him that he had to leave for their council meeting.
