Bayzil shifted back into his human form. That alone caused him great pain. His legs were covered with blood but the man could still stand up straight. Safira shifted back into her human form too.
She crouched down into a stance as Bayzil rushed forward toward her. He was charging toward her like a bull. Just as before, she decided to dodge it with a sidestep.
But that was a mistake.
Bayzil had the upper hand this time. He predicted her move and he had something special ready for her. As soon as Safira made the sidestep to dodge his attack, her gut feeling went on overdrive. She sensed something was amiss.
A silvery glint caught her eye but there wasn't enough time for her to react.
A sharp pain surged through her body. The adrenaline of the fight quickly wore off as blood seeped from the fresh wound. A grin formed on Bayzil's face. He plunged the scalpel he had stolen from the healers deeper into Safira's stomach.
"How does it feel?" He whispered to her.
