Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

I landed on the ground like that super man guy. One knee down and my fist slammed the ground. I assessed my surrounding as four women in their early forties looked at me. All of them with lightning bolts from their right hands.

I sighed as my wings vanished. I needed to play this with cautious or I will be the one to end up dead. When it's supposed to be the four women.

They all looked like. But when I asked before all this started, they told me they were just look alike. And they all tied their hair into a ponytail. With white long dresses that didn't fit the scenario at hand.

Or they just didn't think there was going to take that much time to with me. But they had it all wrong.

I called to my wizard powers and then waved a hand to create an invisible shield.

"You can't beat us, child. We told you about this, but you thought you were better and stronger than us. But here we are," the one to my left spoke.

I shadow walked as they sent their lightning bolts at me. A second from the other, I appeared at the back of one of them and then slammed her with a firebolt, sending her flying across the surrounding.

My protective shield blocked a jet of lightning that was meant to stub me behind. I sunk in a breath and went running towards the woman that sent the jet of lightning. Dogging and ducking all sorts of magic she was sending my way.

I then skidded on the floor as a sword protruded from my leather jacket. Then I stubbed her on her foot—making sure she didn't have the ability to move.

Then I held her hands behind and used her as a shield from the firebolts and orbs that her sisters sent. All the magic struck her and the poor thing evaporated from the face of the earth.

My heart skipped a beat. That was meant for me.

Her soul sisters looked at me with all the hate in the world. And all I thought of doing was masking my fear with a smile. Showing them my fear was something they will end up using to their advantage.

I threw two orbs to the two women on my side, then went running toward the one that faced me. But just as I dodged one of her crackling lightning, she punched me so hard that I slapped the floor and felt my life flash in front of my eyes.

She then kicked me in my stomach, and I went sliding three feet from her. I coughed and then tried to struggle to my feet.

But the other two soul sisters held my hands while their sister beat the leaving hell out of me. I spit a mouth full of blood as she gave me a fifth punch.

"You killed our sister, now you have to pay for it," the one punching me spoke with rage burning in her eyes.

"She was about to kill me if I didn't act first. You would have done the same," I spoke. I don't know why was trying to make her mad when they had the upper hand. But it all had to do with the fact that I had a crapy teacher.

"And you killed her, not me," I gestured my shoulders.

Just like I thought, she punched me in my stomach — making me bend down in the process. I coughed twice and then began laughing on top of my lungs. Bring an expression of surprise on their faces.

"What's so fun about this?" she asked.

I looked down and a black mumble sat there.

"Pickaboom." I spoke, and the mumble went boom. They screamed on top of their lungs and let me go.

I swiftly threw a dagger at the one in front of me and the damn thing went right through her heart. Then I blasted the other two with orbs the size of a baseball.

"You are now ready to admit that I'm better," I spoke as I caught my breath. Actually, slapping my hands on my knees — making my long black hair cover my face.

I looked up as the room changed from a gloomy, dark opening to a room filled with training weapons. Behind an old-looking man were swords and daggers of all kinds. But my favorite one was the one with a dragon handle used to kill one of the soul sisters.

To my left were all sorts of fighting equipments, from quarterstaff to lance. Then there were punching bags and all sorts of things that we used for trainings. But according to Roland, he preferred daggers because they were deadly. Apparently.

"And that was dangerous, man. I could have died," I scolded as I walked to him.

Roland was in his early forties, about my father's age, actually. He had short hair that he kept perfectly. He made sure his beard was on point at all times. Which made him look younger than he was.

He smiled at my tantrums, showing me his perfect teeth. He wore a black suit that went well with his light skin. And he completed his look with well-polished shoes.

"I wasn't going to kill you. That is why it's called training," he gestured and began going to the elevator.

I just followed him behind as I still tried to catch my breath. "And you have improved from the last time we trained," he smiled at me as we both entered the elevator and he pressed on the ground floor.

I didn't even know what to say to him. Because even though I was mad and wanted to beat him for using the soul sisters during training, I couldn't do it. Because one, out of the respect I have for him and because he might beat the leaving hell out of me.

He was helping me to master my wizard powers, and he helped me get a job years ago at the Vatican as an assassin. Well, we helped with things that threatened our society.

"I have to talk to father, Michael before we go," he spoke as the elevator landed.

"Do I have to join you guys?" I asked. He just looked at me in a you don't have a choice way. And because I wasn't allowed to curse, I just stapled my feet as I walked.

"Let me do the talking, he is pretty mad because of what you did last night," he looked at me before he opened the door after the father answered us to enter.

Well, this was going to be a long lecture.
