"Hey!"
Kalvin turned his head as the man called out to him. That person was one of the Mayhem members who kept an eye on him—even if Kalvin was in his taxi. That person had been assigned to stand guard along with several other members of Mayhem. He is Raka.
"What's wrong? Do you want it?"
Kalvin offered his pack of cigarettes to Raka. He thought Raka wanted to smoke like him. But that wasn't what Raka wanted. Raka was only curious about a gun behind Kalvin; in the passenger seat. He wondered why it was there.
"Behind you..."
"Behind me? Oh..."
Kalvin paid attention to the direction where Raka was looking. He realized that Raka was looking at the gun in the passenger seat.
"What's that? Is it yours?"
"It's not mine."
"Mikey's?"
"Yeah, it's Mikey's."
To be honest, Kalvin had no idea how Mikey got hold of the guns. A few days ago, Kalvin had seen many weapons and ammunition stocks in the warehouse belonging to the New Camp organization. He was very surprised that there were so many weapons there. He didn't know how they got those. He was very curious, but in his other thoughts, he thought of ignoring it. As long as they can arrange those properly and correctly, it doesn't matter to him. Most importantly, they don't forget to take responsibility for the guns and bullets. It's their job to organize it properly, however.
"Did he leave that?"
Raka kept asking. He seemed suspicious of Kalvin—evident from all the questions he asked. Kalvin also inevitably had to deal with him, answering all his questions.
"Well, Mikey said it was his rifle. He put it there just in case."
"Guard? Does he have a problem?"
"He-"
"Oh, I know. He and that gangster... Well, that makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on high alert now."
Raka had answered his question without needing Kalvin to answer. That worked in Kalvin's favor.
"Yeah, so he put that in there. He didn't bring it out of respect for you. He knows that you are a trustworthy person. So, he decided to put it there."
As if Kalvin's words were true, Raka was happy and smiled.
Again, his mouth can affect human emotions. He had made Raka happy, even if it was just from those words alone. For the umpteenth time, he had lied to himself.
Raka turned around, decided to stand guard in front of the base. But before he could go any further, Kalvin called out to him.
"Hey!"
That made Raka turn around and return to his place.
"What is it? Do you want to poop? Toilets over there! You shouldn't blame your customers for making you like this."
"Not that!"
Kalvin found something before Raka left him. He saw the light in his rearview mirror and knew what it was. He called Raka to return to his place because of that immediately.
"Can you get in the car now?!"
Of course, Raka was very surprised by Kalvin's request. Kalvin had ordered him with something strange, which he did not understand.
"Why?" Raka asked.
Kalvin couldn't tell what he had just seen to him. If he said that, everyone there would panic; in the end, this place would be deserted. So, he had to find another reason to make Raka believe him.
Kalvin saw several motorbikes parked there. Then he looked back at Raka with the idea he had just got.
"I want to show my skills and prove that cars are better than motorcycles."
"Huh? What do you mean? Do you want to prove that cars are better than motorbikes? Are you insulting us?"
Of course, Raka did not accept that. He was very angry because he felt he had been insulted by Kalvin.
"Well, that depends on who's driving. To me, I am a great driver at my job."
"I'm also a great motorcycle driver in my gang. I can even beat Lambert when it comes to driving a motorcycle."
Raka accidentally calls his boss's name. He let slip to tell Kalvin about Mr. L, the real name Mr. L. Even so, Kalvin didn't care about that. Kalvin didn't even know who Lambert was. He only felt that Raka did not want to lose.
"Oh really? Do you want to prove that after I show off my driving skills?"
"Okay. I will prove to you that motorbikes are better than cars."
Raka was provoked to get into the car. But when Raka had opened the car's front door, Kalvin stopped him.
"You sit in the back! You have to be there like a passenger."
"Okay, if that's what you want. You control me too much."
Raka complied, got into the car through the back door, and became a passenger.
Before Kalvin stepped on the gas pedal, Raka took out something. It was a radio, a tool for communicating with his friends.
"I'll be going, just a minute."
It was conveyed to Mr. L, who discussed it in the base. Mr. L could tell that Raka suddenly decided to leave one of his subordinates who said that.
Mr. L had gotten the radio from one of his subordinates.
"Hey, where do you want to go!?" Mr. L snapped.
"Shut up, old man!"
"HEY, RAKA!"
"I'm only going to be gone for a bit! I want to prove to this man that motorbikes are better than cars! So, don't be fussy! You weren't invited! Just stay there! Enjoy your transaction!"
"You impudent...!!!"
Kalvin glanced at Raka from the rearview mirror of the car. He glanced so sharply that it looked like he wanted to prey on Raka. His glance was suspicious, but Raka didn't pay attention to him.
Kalvin stepped on the gas pedal of his car, increased the accelerator, and told Raka to pay attention to his driving skills.
He drives shrewdly and deftly at fast and steady speeds on busy highways. He passed and overtook several cars in front of him. Raka is very surprised to see Kalvin's driving skills. He thinks that Kalvin is not a normal taxi driver. It was crazy; his skills were crazy.
"Hey, stop! This is bad. I could die before Lambert dies. Hey, stop your car, idiot!"
Kalvin ignored Raka. He continued driving towards his destination. But after that, after the car approached its destination, he slowed down the accelerator and glanced at Raka from the rearview mirror.
"Look at that rifle, is it loaded or not? If not, you can load it with ammo below you."
Kalvin already knew that there was rifle bullet ammunition in there. Mikey didn't tell him that, but Kalvin could tell that the ammo was the bullet for the rifle. Kalvin seemed to have prepared it before meeting Mikey, predicting what would happen. In other words, he had prepared everything since he saw the warehouse.
"What do you mean?"
Raka was confused. It was so clear to him. He didn't understand what Kalvin was doing.
Kalvin suddenly stopped on the side of the road and turned to Raka. His eyes... he stared at Raka with empty eyes.
"Listen to me!"
"Yes? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You don't want your family to be in danger, do you? So, listen and trust me!"
There is one thing that Kalvin knows but Raka cannot, and that is...
"You saw that building over there, right? There is a sniper who is stalking your base. Most likely, it will attack your family and your leader."
"Huh? Is that true? Why are you-"
"Besides..." Kalvin interrupted. "There are already quite a few people ready to ambush your base. One... two... there are seven people ready to attack. So..."
Before Kalvin could explain what he was doing, he glanced up at that building.
"It will start if the sniper fires. So, your job is to kill it before it shoots! I'm pretty sure they will panic and run away because their plan has been discovered."
*Sound of something being pressed.
Kalvin changed the number plate of his car before he finally stepped on the gas pedal of his car.
Raka can only obey and believe him. He swallowed his saliva because he felt pressured by what Kalvin had to say. It was as if he had just been intimidated by Kalvin and forced to obey his orders.
"If you don't want to lose your family, kill that person over there!"
