We did our best to lure the zombies so that they won't come back, toying with them, going in many places and dividing them.
During this time, we also met other survivors who were hiding in the city, looking for a way out. They decided to join our growing community, seeing that we had a strong and organized group. With the population steadily increasing, I had to think of a way to accommodate them.
In the next 3 days, we made it back to our base. We are now 700+ with the new members. With the increase of number, we focused surely on construction of the base.
To fortify it further we strategically positioned dead cars using a forklift, salvaged from the the cars on the road nearby, to act as barriers, protecting us from potential zombie threats. After weeks of tireless efforts.
As time passed, not much eventful occurred in the their base. And so, a whole 2 months passed by. The new base was complete! The dream base of them is now fully build!
Let me explain the whole base to you. The base is located at the foot of the mountain near the farm where we found Jenny and Andy. There is a village there that is surrounded by forest. It is quite far from the main road, so the villagers decided to become self-sufficient. They hunted their own meat, built their own well for water, and made a large farm to feed the people in their village. The village used to have more than 2000 people, and they even had their own school.
The people wanted to live in that village because they wanted to isolate themselves from the world, and they just wanted to live a quiet and peaceful life. Sadly, the apocalypse changed everything and killed almost all of them.
Next to their village, there is another village where we found Roger. It is closer to the road, and there are two more villages on the left and right sides of the road one of that villages is where I put the women captives in the city. There are also two more villages that are farther away and it is on the main road.
Our plan was to make the villages near the main road into outposts, surrounding them with broken cars to make them the first line of defense. We also blocked the road exit and entrance with broken cars, so that survivors would have to find another way to get in or out. We also installed CCTV cameras around the area, so that we could see everything that was happening within 10 kilometers.
You may wonder how we would get out of the area ourselves. Well, we would use the farm on the mountain as our route. We also made the farm and the mansion into outposts, so that if any enemies followed us, they would have to deal with them.
Now, for the base, we built a wall using concrete and large rocks. It is 6 meters high. The wall isn't an open wall, it is thick and we made it like the medieval castle walls, but there is a catch, it is build for modern warfare, that's why we made sure that soldiers will have an easy and find a place to cover from the shots. That's why we had build another wall on top of the wall to hide and cover from the attack of the intruders.
We also built traps for hordes of zombies and intruders. Inside the village, we divided it into three sections: one for creating tools and equipment, one for producing food, water, and electricity, and one for the first line of defense inside the village. This is where we would check anyone for any bites, so that no infected would be able to get inside.
