[Talent Devour (E rank) -> Can consume the talent of the opponent to allow the user to obtain it. Uses most of the energy of the talent consumed to strengthen itself.]
[Note: The Laughing god expects great things from you, so pull the talent straight out of their heads! Might be useless now, but isn't that what's so funny about it?]
Despite being disappointed at what little change Devour brought about, Allen could only sigh in regret that this was his only Talent. Checking her body he found the three crystals everyone received when they arrived, but unlike Allen, Edith carried a summoning crystal for her own race.
[Illusion Fox Summoning Circle Crystal]
[Will create a small summoning circle that will summon 10 Illusion Foxes every week]
[Note: Once built it is (Upgradable) but (Immobile).]
Despite his excitement, Allen decided to put it off for now. Ordering the body to be taken out back and buried, Allen basically jumped up in excitement at future prospects.
"Lord, what has happened?" Orion looked at Allen with great concern.
Allen could only give one last sigh before nodding and sending everyone off to do their own things for the day. Despite his disappointment in his talent, Allen knew he had to find out more about the people under him since there is a hunter and swordsman, who knew what other basic skills his people could have to help him grow.
After asking around he found all mages were useless with knowledge only covering nothing but a basic magic apprentice that has spent their entire life only learning the basics of magic and basically nothing else. Only Henry had learned to lead because he was an heir to a small noble house.
Of the regular humans, two were apprentices for smithing, one an apprentice cobbler, the only woman was a real professional blacksmith, an apprentice cook and another being a real cook, two more simply being homeless on the streets, and lastly were Derek, the amateur swordsman, and Orion, the hunter. Because of asking around Allen also learned of one other amazing thing about the summoning circle, it heals and revitalizes all who are summoned!
Apparently, the homeless were emancipated and looked like a bag of bones before arriving, but after arriving they were healthy strong young men. The woman was nearly bragging about how tall she had gotten as well as how big her chest had gotten after arriving. That said she barely had an easily missable small bump ever so slightly lifting her shirt up.
After finding out what everyone did Allen now finally turned his attention to the crystals he now had on hand. Throwing the basic house and storage crystal into the Warehouse; the summoning circle crystal was all that was left in his hands.
Walking into the now basically designated room for summoning circles he quickly crushed the crystal making the room shine brightly as the summoning circle appeared on the floor.
[Illusion Fox Summoning Circle (Upgradable) (Immobile)]
[Gathers Mana to summon 5 Illusion Foxes every week]
[Recruits Available: 10]
[Recruit Requirements: 3,000 wood, 4,000 stone, 5,000 Iron]
[Upgrade Requirements: 100,000 wood, 200,000 Stone, 300,000 Iron]
[Special Effect: All units will start with two tails.]
[Note: First time summoning is completely free.]
Just as Allen was checking the differences between circles something stood out.
[Special Effect: All units will start with two tails.]
[Special Effect: All units summoned will start as completely loyal.]
"Does that mean all units will start out as disloyal to me?... Ugghh- Why are things so complicated? Well, this at least means I shouldn't use it. If they attack me because I am not part of their race then I would have to deal with another powerful fox that I can't control that might want to take over and only want to kill.
Edith only had one tail and since two tails is something special enough to be called a special effect, then I might just die immediately without any chance to resist them. I guess only my cute wolves are worth anything."
As he had summoning circles on his mind, Allen decided to check out if anyone would dare sell such a powerful item. Soon the Trade Chat popped up as it was soon sorted to filter all summoning circle crystals.
[Human Summoning Circle Crystal -> 800 Food]
[Dire Wolf Summoning Circle Crystal -> 1,500 Food]
[Ground Squirrel Summoning Circle Crystal-> 200 Food]
[Human Summoning Circle Crystal -> 1,000 Food]
[Light Fox Summoning Circle Crystal -> 1,000 Food]
Just as the options popped up, the Human Summoning circles disappeared just as quickly as they showed up. Confused about how a human would be bought before the Dire Wolf Allen checked on the global forum to find if he could find anyone talking about human summoning circles or any summoning circles.
[Can anyone believe the deal I got?! I can summon ten humans a week for food because I bought this for only 1,000 units of food! I break even with the amount of food I get, and I can force them to work until the new food shows up!]
[You think you got a deal? I got a circle for only 800 food! I make a profit on some idiot who sold this!]
[Summoning circles are great early-game food! You get ten free units you can trade their meat away for more supplies if need be!]
[You all who are praising summoning circles don't take into account the crappy ones! I got a Ground Squirrel in a random chest! How useless! If I try to use it as early food I can only get 100 units of food at most! And as a combat force? How powerful is even a squirrel?]
In this early game, most Lords are trading in mostly food where they then trade the food for supplies. Demons in particular seem to be the ones most excited about the trade of food since all talking about buying Human summoning circles are from demons either talking about a deal or how tasty human meat is.
Despite being disgusted at how Humans were being sold like livestock, Allen could do nothing about it since he didn't have the food or ability to look out for every circle being traded. Thinking about how big the Dire Wolves were he soon realized no one had bought them for food yet making them the few lucky ones.
After thinking about it for a while Allen quickly posted something himself on the forum.
[Don't buy Dire Wolves for food! It is such a rip-off to buy them for just the meat! Found one in a chest and can say it is not the right choice to eat them!]
Allen then started thinking if he could post something to help his fellow Humans. Just as he was wondering what he could do Henry knocked on the open door.
"Lord, we have successfully hunted three different dens near your territory. Two fox dens, and one ferret den. Orion would like to inform you that we will be hunting the Water Crocodiles in the river again. It appears they reappeared from last time. With Orion's foresight, he was able to discover this without the loss of any life and only the loss of a single unit of food.
Lastly, we believe we have seen Giants passing the territory. We are unsure of the exact race, but there was most definitely a large, slow-moving figure at the edge of your territory. We believe it will pass without incident within the week."
[Battle Gains -> +25 Exp]
[Level Up!]
"Alright, so a Giant is coming directly at us. Crocodiles are donating us more food for supplies and three small animal dens have been destroyed. How much is the estimate of food we hunted so far?"
"Lord, it should be a little above 2,000 units."
"So only as much as two Water Crocodiles? Pity, but it is still enough for all I need right now. Put it in the Warehouse. Also, give my thanks to Orion for the great job he did."
"Yes Lord!"
Too excited to care about the level-up for now Allen quickly focused on the summoning circles he saw before. As soon as he saw the food entered the Warehouse Allen didn't hesitate and traded for the cheapest Dire Wolf summoning circle he could find while exchanging the rest for supplies to summon the Forest Wolves he couldn't do before.
