I arrived at my apartment. I have been living in this place for one week. I don't remember nothing. About who I am or what I do. Even the rage I feel was gone. Those guy said the school is going to open in the next month.
So I have a lot of free time. I saw that this place is huge and have different kind of people. The awakener were very popular, they are the one who cleared the monster coming from the portal.
But I am not that interested in being one. They said I have potential to become one. While I was strolling my place, I saw the convenience store offering a part time job. I have the money they give me but I don't want any debt so I decided to work at that place.
The job is relatively easy, I work night shifts so I met a lot of strange people. I looked at the time. ' Time to go to work. '
I walk to the store because it is quite close to my apartment. The manager greet him, " Hi, Lucian you arrived early "
I smile, " Yes, Mr.Edward." Edward is a nice man, he helped me with various subject like recent new teaching me how to work. I change my clothes to uniform and quickly went to work. Recently there is a new employee just like me.
This is the first time we work in the same shift so I am excited to met. The door opened and the young woman arrived. She had the name tag and uniform so she must be the employee.
I smile at her and introduce myself, " Hi, I'm Lucian. We'll be working together so Nice to meet you. "
The woman knitted her eyebrows. " You can call me, Emily. " And she walk out.
I don't mind the rude behavior because she is a bit older than me, probably around 20 or 23. The night shift end peacefully. While I was packing the food and clothes, I saw the smoke coming from the backdoor of the store. Manager plant some tree so I was worried that something would happen. I decided to check.
I saw Emily smoking, she look at me wandering why I open the door. I noticed her thought and said, " I saw the smoke coming from the back so I decided to check."

Emily looked at me and take out new cigarette and give it to me. " Here. "
I took the cigarette, It is a very strange feeling. " Why are you giving me? "
" You look like you have been forcing yourself into something. Just relax." She give me lighter.
I lit up the cigarette, not bad.
The smoke and the quite atmosphere make my heart calm. When the cigarette die, I say goodbye to Emily and left.
Next morning, I buy the cigarette pack. One week passed, Emily and I enjoyed our break time, smoking. She told me about her story. She is studying at the college. And she applied the awakener management course.
So, she is like union worker.
I told her about my situation. " I don't remember anything. It is quite lonely that there is nobody you can rely on. "
" Well, that's suck but you have smoking partner right? "
I laughed and nodded. Each day passed quietly. It is time for the school. They say I had to move to dormitory.
" Emily." The cigarette die and it is time for me to tell her about leaving.

" Awakener school."
Emily look at me. I took out another cigarette and light, " It is time for me to leave. "

I say goodbye to her one last time and quite the job. In the next morning, the car arrived in front of my apartment. I show my ID to the driver. He looked up and down, after while he nodded.
There is a good number of people on the bus. Some have a strange aura. I walked to the back seat.
Soon, the bus stop at the academy. The academy was large enough to cover third of the city. They give him a key and a set of uniform. The class start next week, i had to prepare my room.
After cleaning my room, I walk to the cafeteria. The school give students free food but if you have money you can order really nice food.
I sit on the first floor, the second floor is were the awakener student and high class students eat. So, commoner like him have no choice. After eating, I stroll around the school.
The building I'm interested was sword building. Awakener can use skill, world's energy make standard panel indicating the person status. If one awaken his energy he will be able to use status.
I walk inside the hallway. I saw a few people training inside. I look at them, their technique looks complex but in my eyes nothing seem special.
Feeling a pressure in the corner, I turn my head towards the direction. I saw the man holding sword concentrating. He saw faint energy flowing into the sword. The color blue, he cut horizontally. The cut was clean, the steel plate in front of him were cut in half.
I gulped. Powerful. Sensing my gaze, he look at my direction. He focus on his training again.
It is time to go. I went to the dormitory. On the way he saw group of people talking, laughing, having a good time with their friends.
I need to find a good friend. He noted in his mind. I was in the room laying in the bed. I should I spent this week. I grabbed my phone and text to Emily. No reply.
' Guess she is studying. ' I took out my cigarette pack and went to the park. There is a cure for all diseases even cancer so school don't mind student smoking. But drinking is prohibited for students like him.
On the park, I saw the bench it is 6 pm so the day light is out and the streetlight illuminating the bench. I took out the lighter, Emily give him a lucky charm.
The smoke come out from my mouth, savoring the taste, I look at the sky. There is no star. Just darkness like nightmare he dream everything he sleep.
I sighed. After finishing remaining cigarette in the pack, he went back to his room.
The time is 7:34, I spent that much time alone. He saw many couple on the park. He feel jealous a little bit. They all have people who care for them. Must be great.
I fell asleep.
On the morning, there is a knock on the door. I open my eyes and rubbed a little bit. The vision become clearer. " Coming. " I shouted.
I open the door. I saw the young girl looking down at his feet. " Hello! " The girl looked up to him, take out the paper.
I took it unconsciously. " What it is? "
The girl bow and left without answering him. ' Strange. ' I look at the content of the paper.

" Ohh. " I guess they already start to recruit members for class. I closed the door, blushing the teeth and washing. I went to the cafeteria for breakfast.
