"Nothing that you do not know," Vincent said, letting out a long breath.
"She attempted to put you under duress." James asked and he silently nodded.
"But I did not fall for it this time," he remarked.
Adrian had expected this outcome from the meeting. They were all aware of how Cassandra had brainwashed and used Vincent against others since he was a young child.
However, this time Vincent was aware of what was coming ahead of him and he didn't let her words affect him.
"How do you feel now that you have ended everything with her?" Adrian questioned, grabbing Vincent's interest.
There was a brief pause before Vincent responded, "I feel light as if a huge rock had been lifted from my shoulder. I am proud of myself right now for resisting her deception."
Everyone felt more at ease around Vincent because of the soft, contented smile that lingered on his face.
