Daniel grinned as he fixed his gaze on the girl in front of him.
"How are you, Abby?" he inquired, hoping to elicit a response from her.
However, Abby felt as though she had been struck by lightning when she saw Daniel, her childhood sweetheart, standing in front of her. No words could come from her mouth nor could she bring herself to smile back as the memories of her past started surfacing again.
Unable to stand the feeling, she quickly composed herself and tried to leave, but Daniel held her wrist.
"Abby, please do go. Are you still upset about what happened back then? Why do you behave as though you are unfamiliar with me?" Daniel's voice quavered when he noticed that, despite saying so much, she had not even bothered to look at him.
Abby finally turned to face him, clenching her fist and yanking her hand from his hold. However, this time she did not appear shocked; instead, she answered with a straight face.
