Emily stepped out of the house after much hesitation and walked to the nearest grocery shop. Now that she agreed with Clara's request to bring Adrian along, Emily thought of making dinner with the dishes he enjoyed eating.
It was stupid of hers to think Adrian would still have the same taste in food. He was a grown man with different tastes after all these years, and she wondered whether he would like it.
But when she realized whether he would even stay there after finding out that she was friends with Clara, she stopped moving.
'What if he does not acknowledge her? How would that make her feel?'
A lot of things started going through Emily's head, and she regretted even agreeing with Clara. Even though she was extremely anxious about meeting Adrian tonight, she was more afraid of his response.
