"I think so," she replied as she turned to face him.
Vincent's eyes fell and his countenance became melancholy. For once, he wished to hear her declare she wasn't, but her words crushed his heart.
"Then wait for me. I've prepared my luggage. Let's go to your mother's house together," he stated quickly, striding in front of her, leaving Hazel stunned.
Vincent was instantly panicked as he glanced hopefully at Hazel and said, "I know you need space, and I will give it to you. I can stay in the guest room, barely making my presence known, while you spend time with your mother and siblings."
Hazel continued to look at him in astonishment, but he misinterpreted her silence before breaking in front of her.
